It's absolutely hysterical that someone asks "what if you can get a top 10 pick for Frost" and then tells you that you overvalue players. Are some really that clueless and unaware? |

Okay. Lets give you that so you don’t have to have that be on your precious captain. So he scores 2 goals & is an even hahah much better - Fopa21
Say what you want about G’s mistakes last night but at least he showed a pulse…if Hayes, Couturier, Provy and JVR showed anything close to that passion the Flyers would have probably won. |

If those guys showed any passion the past 15 games it would have been nice too. G is once again the only guy that can be counted on. This organization is trash. |

I’m sure if he was still here his stats would be about the same…him and G were always around each other. I’m also sure it was time for a change for both player and team. |

I have no doubt that Provorov plays with passion. He's just messed up right now. No clue what's wrong with Couturier. JVR is just in a deep scoring funk and it seems as he gets older, his slumps lengthen and get worse.

With the team averaging below 2 goals per game I doubt he'd have 18 assists here.
But yes, it was time for a change with him.

Agreed on Provys passion but he seems to be a guy that is mentally fragile. His errors compound and he’s inconsistent. When he’s on he’s a great Dman but when things are going bad he does nothing to steady the ship. |

Messed up because he’s overrated. Plays about 5-6 minutes too many a game |

This team has ZERO untouchables. The issue is when we trade G and RR. We will get a pick in the late 20s most likely. Need to parlay that and move up. Try and get a top 5 pick. Or go the prospect route and land a good prospect who might be ready to contribute next year - bradster
First if the Flyers do decide to aggressively sell at the deadline, they will be able to recoup multiple high picks (rounds 1-3) and hopefully a few prospects. This would also mean they are going to finish in the bottom 1/3 of the league and thus be a lottery team. So my hope is they will have a top 10 pick, maybe top 5 depending on how hard they tank, and hopefully 2 other 1st round picks. With that I hope they land 3 players that can will be ready to play next season. Add in the vets already on the team, a few younger players from the AHL and a couple of smart signings and you have the basis for a fresh start next season. On top of that will be who is coaching the team. I like Mike Yeo, he is no worse than say Rick Tocchet based on his career so far so it will be interesting to see how he does this year. However if we truly want Barry Trotz's defensive system, he has an assistant coach in Lane Lambert that might be a nice choice. Also I am starting to hear rumblings that Bruce Cassidy might be wearing out his welcome in Boston and if so he would be an excellent candidate also. So picking the right coach to commit to is another important step this off season. |

its an example of your idiocy. you said the flyers would be inept to trade frost. So i gave an example.
So you think frost is an untouchable and i think the flyers have ZERO untouchables. I think you over value our players because i dont see ANY untouchables. Not really hard to understand what my point was
As usual we disagree. I think the flyers would be inept to think they have any untouchables.

They have too many guys that are mentally fragile. I agree he’s definitely a very good d man when’s he’s on…but he’s been off far to often in the last year and a half. |

I would like the flyers to get a new fresh thinking coach. Like a knoblauch, someone that isnt too far removed from Jr's so they can relate to todays players.

The one thing I’ll say about that is Provy is a different player when playing with confidence (like all I guess) but maybe he needs that crutch. Hopefully Ellis gets himself right and becomes that guy. |

The way we have been drafting with our 2nd rounders lately, it wont hurt us any that we traded it. Ginning, Ratcliffe and Leberge say hi. - bradster
That's what bad drafting looks like. The list is extensive. Rubstov, O'Brien and Morin were terrible picks the day they were made. Even Sanheim was a bit of a stretch, he came out of absolutely nowhere his draft year and shot up the draft charts, risky pick.
I'd like to bring Ginning over from Sweden and see what he can do in the AHL. I still believe there's potential for a solid defensive defenseman with leadership abilities. A good 3rd pairing guy. He's a 21 year old defenseman, been playing against men in the SHL since 2016-17 and captained Sweden's world junior team. When the Flyers drafted him I figured he needed around 5 years of development before taking a crack at the NHL. |

I think what Mike Yeo said about Frost last night after the game sums it up:
We are starting to scratch the surface. He's still not quite confident, if something good happens in the game he follows it up with a couple of good things. I don't think he quite knows what his full potential is yet but you can see the skill level, and when he is feeling good he is a guy that can really make plays. So I think there are still parts of his game that we are going to work with and try to grow but some of the things he is capable of doing out there certainly adds to our group.
So the question is will Frost ever figure it out and reach this potential? This is what the coaches have to answer and what decisions should be based upon. |
