If they're not going to move Giroux, nothing is going to change.
Accept this team for what it is.
This team has no identity, no personality, and that falls squarely on G's shoulders. |

Do you really think Fletcher is the problem here? He came in 2019 with the mandate of building around the core group that was here and compete for a championship, and I think he has tried to do that. But at some point, the realization has to set in that the core group that was here is JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH to build around! Hart is still young so he has much more development to do, but Provey, Sanheim, TK, G, Jake, JVR and Couts were simply not good enough to build around. Its time for big reset. - jd250
His first year was good. He made a couple subtle moves…he dropped the ball huge in year two and didn’t respond at all when it was evident the team was lacking. He now had the full summer to try and get this right. Although I like some of the new players he brought in, this team continues to just sputter. He’s had enough time to put his stamp on this team and it’s fair to say he’s now the guy responsible. Firing only 2 of the 3 coach’s is not a good look. Keeping the guy running the D was a head scratcher to me. I was Luke warm on Fletchers hire, but as with anything the Flyers do I always assume the best and form my opinion. He’s definitely now on the hot seat or at least he should be. |

Back to back huge hits. Two nights in a row. Trouba was just ok last year…he’s really putting together a good year this year. |

At it's heart, hockey is a pretty simple game:
Control the puck, make a play, attack the net, repeat.
Flyers fail at step one, forget the rest of it. - Tomahawk
Whether you want to blame the coaches or the players, they're game is completely devoid of structure or cohesiveness. I've never seen anything like it.

Lindblom should spend some time in Lehigh…if someone want to grab him on the waiver wire …so be it. |

He’s awesome on a beautiful sunny day but the minute there’s clouds or rain the guy is a middle of the road D man. He’s way too inconsistent to be considered top end talent. He also went an absolutely loaded draft and a few guys right after him can be argued were the better players. It was the safe route as usual, take the 200 foot guy as folks have mentioned. - ClaudeFather
That's true of like 98% of defenseman in the league. 200 foot player is the new buzz word. Provorov has two way talent.

Current roster players I’d hold onto:
Hart
Farabee
Frost
Couturier (the length of his deal means you won’t get fair value, so I’d keep him)
That’s it other than the prospects in LHV, Junior & overseas
Sure, you won’t be able to move them all, but all should be made available - BiggE
Moving Provorov unless you get an offer that is too good to pass up would be a mistake.

Agreed, but the house cleaning should be done before deadline. I don't trust Fletcher to make any deals for this teams future ( return for a G or any trade for that matter). My 47 years as a fan, I have never felt this team is in a worse place than it is now. Disgusting - 3flyerkids
The NHL trade market is not going to develop much until the deadline. Half the league is in LTIR. The closer you get to the deadline, the more teams competing for players

Yea he didn’t look so good last year. He’s overpaid for sure. I think he had the pressure of being that top guy but Fox put that to bed quickly and now he’s more in his role and settled. |

The last decade has been tough…but I agree this team was un watchable for a good part of last year. They have reached that level of ineptitude again this season. |

We now have 3 players acquired off waivers from other teams. That's not AVs fault, it's evidence CF hasn't built the roster properly. |

I don’t think Fletch should decline any phone calls these days….not sure many GM’s want to take his calls though. |

I do. Sure, he made some changes but not enough, and some of his moves were really unnecessary - Thompson, Brassard - nothing against them but they're just not what this team needs. CF admitted it himself, this isn't the right mix of players and that is 100% on him to fix.

I was thinking about this last night as I watched the game, can we say now that this team has the SAME EXACT Malaise they had last season? If so does Fletcher have any other choice but to do a complete house cleaning here? - jd250
But the culture was changed. What happened?

Sorry I disagree on that one. While I like him more than Fletcher, he was all in all a pretty mediocre GM
Then again, I’m old enough to remember Keith Allen and few will measure up to that standard.
Hextall did a nice job with the cap, but he put too much emphasis on 200 ft players over skilled players and his FA signings were nothing to write home about. |
