No. Not even a little bit.

I'd rather have the 1st, 2nd and Haag right now than Ristolainen. You keep using the term reset. That's laughable. All of a sudden 1st round picks can jump this reset. In the off season you downplayed their importance because they won't play for 3 years. - MJL
When you are picking where the Flyers typically pick, and add on the anomalies of last year's draft, yes it will take time for picks to develop, and we have seen this year already. However if this draft coming up is as deep as some "experts" say and the Flyers can get into the top or even the top 5, they have a chance to get a really good player that will indeed jump start the reset. |

It's not babying the guy. It's being smart enough to identify the players who are good enough to keep and those that aren't. It's about being smart enough to know which players are doing the dragging down and which players are being dragged down. Provorov while not a top #1 defenseman, is in the latter category. Some also fail to remember just how hard it has been for this organization to develop quality defenseman. Provorov is a quality defenseman. - MJL
I’m not saying to trade the guy for anything either I’m just saying you can listen to offers. I think he’s a very solid Dman but he tends to be in ruts far too often. Is he in a great situation, clearly not but for a guy that is a marginal #1 Dman I’d like to see more consistency. Hell there’s a chance that this organization developed him so badly that there really isn’t much more to give from the guy. |

Last night, my husband suggested Torts as the new head coach. I nearly spit out my drink... If that happens I figured this board might implode. |

Can't agree with that. The major mistake was hiring Hextall to rebuild the franchise, then telling him he had to keep the team "competitive" while doing so. - BaronVonShiznit
who told him that?

Then for two years is a row why isn't he playing like one? Why doe Provorov need to play with a all-star to look anywhere near like a quality defenseman? |

Why do people show up and post about a team that did not show up and even try to play hockey the night before? Talk about your Stockholm syndrome. The team is unwatchable. Accept it and move on. - iamscore2day

So, do we all agree at this point that Alain Vigneault was NOT the problem?
THAT was a mistake.
Wonder if Chuck made that decision or if his hand was forced......
THAT sure seems like a panic move to me.
This team needs ON-ICE leadership. - Nh_kong
Vigneault was very much a big part of the problem.

Sanheim's mobility has gotten the Flyers what exactly? The guy can't play defense! He can't take the body, he can't win a puck battle and his mobility hasn't exactly made it easier for this team to do even a basic thing like enabling a clean zone exit! Last year Sanheim's mobility got him a -22 and this year offensively Sanheim's mobility has generated 0 goals and 5 assists. And how much are we paying this guy right now? $4.6M? How long do we have to see the player before we can admit what he is, he has played in 279 NHL games! |

If nothing else it would make the rest of the season interesting. This season is shot to hell, so we might as well get some form of entertainment out of it!!

You keep calling it a reset. That is not what needs to be done. They need to go back to the Hextall plan and start that again. There is no reset that is going to fix this. Those that had any inkling that Fletcher was going to trade this team into contention, was foolish

There is no mcdavid or matthews in this draft. Even Shanes stock has fallen a bit. Not the sure thing he once was. But still a really good player. But getting a top 3 pick would really help.

If he had a better team surrounding him, he wouldn't be in those ruts far too often.

Sorry Bill. But some players need a change of scenery. 10 years is long enough. - Captain_Ahab
Flyers will continue to seed the league with good players. The yearly ritual of watching former Flyers raise the Cup will continue. All for a change of scenery.

Jake didn't want to be here anymore but the return could have been better. Unfortunately, these are the kind of deals you have to make when you sign contracts like the one Fletcher gave to Kevin Hayes.
I dont miss Ghost whatsoever.

How many games has Ristolainen played in the NHL? You still can't admit what he is. I'd take Sanheim over Ristolainen all day long.

Ok, when you say the Hextall plan what do you mean? The dream plan was to clean house and do a full rebuild, but that is not what happened. What happened was a focus on rebuilding the farm system while also maintaining a competitive team. I think we all agree that this was a bad idea, right? So if what you really mean is a complete rebuild like what the Rangers did I agree with you. But if its go back to what we did under Hextall .. no freak'n way! |

You can trade every single player on this roster, but if Comcast doesn't finally get a clue and hire an architect that understands where the game is headed (and lets them do their job w/o interference), then nothing will change. |

That's not correct. The Flyers badly miss the skills that both of those players had. Wouldn't make a huge difference though.
