Yeah I'm actually kinda hoping to not see any trades right now, it doesn't seem like good asset management. A down year may be good for the Isles in the long-run. Not that I'm happy to see it, but getting a good draft pick and stockpiling some assets would refresh the prospect pool and give us some sustainability in the near-future.
Of course, I'd prefer them to turn it around and make the playoffs...but it sure doesn't feel like it's going to happen right now. - eichiefs9
Last night was so devastating primarily because I think they were actually finding their stride. For the first time this season, they were really showing signs of being on the same page with one another. Their forecheck was aggressive and pushing the play, whereas they had been late on their man prior. I said to my daughter that they were finally starting to show signs of getting their game together. Suddenly a couple of mental errors and they buried themselves.
I honestly do think they can still get on a roll and find their way back into playoff contention, but the lapses seem so consistent, it's hard to believe that's going to happen in time. We've had so many key players who just don't seem to have the same burst this year. Pageau, for all of his fanfare really has not been good this year. Bailey is Bailey. Palmieri is invisible and looks 5 years older than his actual age now. Clutter has flashes but for the most part looks well past his prime as does Martin. I think Lee is still trying to find his game, though has shown a lot of improvement over the last few games. Wahlstrom can't win Barry's confidence enough to stay on the ice. Then there's the blueline....
There's just too many misses out of this bunch right now to expect it's all going to come together right away
Haha right now that’s a tough question, actually, but in the end I hate being in DC/MD more. I’ve been down in the general DC area since 2002 when I started school. It’s unbearable being down here with Caps fans who had no idea what hockey was until they drafted Ovechkin. Dare I say it got to a point where I almost hated the Caps more than Rangers…almost. Their fans also have no idea why an Islanders fan would despise the Caps. Then I have to remind them about Dale Hunter. Most don’t even know who that is either.
If I had the money, I’d move back to Long Island in 2 seconds

Caps fans didn’t know what hockey was until Trotz was hired! He taught OV how to be a complete player. I hate Dale (frank)in Hunter too.
