From a fiscal standpoint, I don't think you want 3 goalies at $18 million on your roster, so I'm guessing the salary swap way of doing this is Koskinen and RNH for Price. Salary pretty much balance out then you have Smith (when he returns) as a solid backup or starting until Price returns.

I don't see other teams eating salary unless they're getting a player or a GOOD draft pick. I don't see Montreal giving away anything in the first 2, maybe 3, rounds. Their 2nr round pick will be very close to Edmonton's 1st rounder. Too valuable.

This is an overpayment for a goalie who hasn't played a game this season. There is no guarantee he's going to come back at an elite level

I hope Holland has more sense than that. My experience with people who've had to go to treatment to deal with their addictions is that they will someday have to go back and deal with them again and the timing on the return trip is always horrible - like when you need them the most. Also not sure about Price being able to return or sustain level of play that we associate with his name. Watching Koskinen implode Saturday night after that weird bounce was tough to do, but the Oilers have to make sure that they only have to solve this problem once. Don't throw away Nuge for yesterday's goalie.
