This year's Islanders seem unable to keep up with younger, faster teams like the Wings.........but that describes most of the rest of the NHL.

It’s tough to watch this team lately. Only consolation is looking at the youth on the wings. The speed and skill they brought is fun to watch. Maybe we can pick up one of those in the ‘22 draft.

We are definitely a slower team. It's shown a lot in this game especially. Detroit has had no problem keeping our transition game in front of them.

Team balance is such a delicate thing. A tweak too far in one direction or the other can throw everything out of whack. We are a team full of middle to bottom sixers who can grind out but are undermanned in skill, youth and speed. Funny thing about building for a better playoff team. It doesn't always make you a better regular season team.

Stunning. From one goal away from the Stanley Cup Finals to this. Covid & Injuries considered, this team is failing on every level other than goaltending.
