I think he needs a chance to be “the guy” again. So if he’s not in the top 6 on his preferred wing with the Rangers, I think sending him down COULD make some sense. Basically, just get the guy away from Chytil.

3 goals in his first 8 games when given 15 or so min a game. 3 in his last 19 when closer to 10-12 min.

My first choice is to move him with Zib btw.

I was reading an article that felt he could be kept out through the holiday break for precaution.

Kreider to RW, Laf to LW on Mika's line. Kakko back with Panarin. Hunt can go to the 3rd line in lafs spot or the 4th bumping Goodrow up to the 3rd. i'm in

Yeah I think he is in an ideal spot for growth but maybe not for production. He is playing his natural position without some of the pressures that comes with having to be "The man"

Fair enough on a veteran center. I think eventually he pushes Kreider down the depth chart but it just may not be this year or next. All of a sudden we have ourselves a legit 23 year old top liner and a nice veteran presence on the 3rd line.

If they trade him for Forsberg 2.0 I'll be just as happy

there's no problem with Lafreniere other than he's a left wing on a team with two of the top left wings in the NHL in Kreider and Panarin and none of them feel comfortable playing right wing

I honestly expected him to perform better than kreider in every facet of the games except the PP being the number one pick. Hopefully next year he makes a big jump

I'm actually pretty intrigued by Wright. He's not having the kind of season you'd like to see in his draft year, but he out-paced McDavid's goal-scoring in his exceptional-status-year. By all accounts he's got a high-end shot and plays a great two-way game.

Just inserting one high level player like Wright could make it a very quick turnaround. Even teams that get lucky like NYR in the lottery, tend to have more questions about depth at the time than I would about you guys

I'm not holding my breath that they're going to get him, it would take an exceptionally-bad remainder of the season to "catch" Arizona in the race to the bottom. Arizona is atrocious and the Isles have a minimum of 2 games in hand on every single team in the league. It's not like they have anyone to sell off that would really make them much worse after the deadline either. But if the finish with a top-11 draft pick, they have a chance to win and hop up to #1 I guess.

But yea, seems unlikely it'd happen.
