Can’t figure out why they went from playing a strong protect the puck to Harlem globetrotter poop. I’m also done with Chytil , I dont believe he can even pass the puck, (frank)s around stick handling the loses the puck
- way out west

Yeah he's been brutal. Pretty much only decent off the rush. He's not generating anything right now.

Hunt should shift to 4th line.

Zib officially worst contract on the team. Bring jones up for nemeth.

The rangers top 2 picks are 30 point role players. Pathetic.

I thought Drury could wait but he really needs to find a permanent solution for the Hunt spot. Also what is the 3rd pair? Can’t be Nemth and Hajek

It should be Nils and Hajek. Hajek has looked OK aside from the delay of game.

Interesting stat

Rangers 14-0-2 vs non playoff teams

Only 4-7-1 vs teams currently in a playoff spot

Well they don't seem willing to bring Jones up. I'd rather Hajek over Nemeth or Tinordi.

Aside from Panarin and Strome, there’s very little chemistry among the forward lines. Not withstanding the 4th line.

Zib is not the greatest playmaker, when he’s not skating and shooting, he’s not worth the contract.

It’s been discussed at nauseam here, but Chytil is a winger, not a center.

After showing glimpse of hope Kakko has disappeared, and Laf is lost.

There is work to be done by both the coach and Drury if this team is to take the next step. The reluctance to not bring up Jones is troubling, a smooth skater with quick reflexes.

Good news, Gauthier continues to show some new found confidence

We probably all got ahead of our skies during the winning streak. This is the time to recognize where the defencies are and at least make an effort to address them.

Its still a bit early but Id like to wait to the 40 game mark to see what is going on with this team. New coach, new system, blah blah blah.

Fox, Lindgren, Trouba have been great, Miller lots of mistakes and getting beat, sophomore jinx a bit? Nils, Needs more time to adjust, Tinnordi, Nemeth have been horrendous to say the least.

Strome and Panarin seem to be the only line producing. There is no way to justify NOT signing Strome. If these guys have chemistry, Im all for resigning. No way you want to chance bringing in another center and hope for the say results.

Still waiting for Zib to show up, hopefully soon, CK20 has been great on the PP invisible without Zib producing.

3rd Hopefully will get some pot luck soon and start to produce.

4th line lots of hitting but doesnt win games in the regular season. That is more playoff hockey.

Laf and KK, would like to see more, but yet they are still young and will hopefully find themselves soon. KK has been much more confident and looks to be ready to take another step forward IMO

Your number 1C has to be able to create and carry the line. Right now strome is more valuable than zib. They need to move chytl for an upgraded 3c. Bring jones up for nemeth.

I know Kakko and Laf are young but so is Raymond, zegras etc. tbey need to Fukin do something out there.

Just a couple takeaways: We were always going to have some regression after that long a streak. I'm not panicking after a couple games

It's time to play Laf in the top 6 and see what happens. As much as I love CK, he's pretty much a bigger threat on the PP. Keep CK on PP1 and let Laf take his spot at ES

Georgie has played better than expected, but let's remember we're playing these games with our backup goalie starting. We lost to a top 5 team twice with our backup and our 3rd string goalie, alot of teams in this league have looked foolish by them with their starters

I think what we've seen is a team learning to be consistent and win. We haven't dug ourselves a hole this year, and I think we will play much better come March. We have the wins in the bank this year vs before when we were playing catch up.

Regression was expected,. but issues that existed previously and were masked by Shesterkin stealing games have come to the fore.

Top-six is a mishmash and in dire need of another scoring winger. Kreider has been great but most of that damage has come on the PP and not 5v5. Zibanejad is still struggling, really though goal the other night would jumpstart his game. but is hasn't.

Dryden Hunt is a bottom-six player, not a top-six one. Like the game and the physical way he plays, but miscast there. Filip Chytil is showing he is a winger not a center while Laf was invisible for large stretches of the game, again. Maybe a move to the top-six is what he needs, but shifting him or CK20 to off-wing is less than ideal.

Gallant didn't make any changes for yesterday's game even after the loss as he viewed it as just one game. Wonder if we see any changes tonight. To me, the big difference is lack of speed through the neutral zone and ability to create chances. Under Quinn, stretch passes were the rage and we saw lots of breakout chances. That has died down almost completely.

Nemeth has shown to be a lot less than what I thought he might be when signed. the team needs a spark offensively and someone who can jumpstart the attack from the back line. I would call up Zac Jones, pair him with Nils and see what that dup can do.

Well said. It’s amazing the regression the Kreider/Zib line has seen without Buch. There’s very little threat from that line at even-strength. Feels like the Rangers have a bunch of really good pieces that just don’t fit together perfectly. All great teams go through it though, takes a few seasons of competing and offseason tinkering to find the perfect balance. For now though, Zib needs to find his game, Chytil needs to move to wing or move on, and Nemeth has to sit. Wish Schneider was a LH shot, would be the better choice over Jones IMO.

A Jones-Lundkvist duo would worry me. Two inexperienced smaller guys. Could be a home run, but could be a disaster. Would prefer to see that duo play together in Hartford and call up Schneider to pair him with Hajek (for now).
