Yes. I think that is reasonable in one form or another. The concept of triage is in place now, but I don't think it takes into account previous choices of the patient - only immediate needs of said patient. It is quite a dilemma.
I heard of a proposal of higher taxes or a surcharge for health services if you are not vaccinated. I like this idea, but down every avenue it is the government that should govern and decide policy, but are too irresponsible and weak. Democratic Governments reflect the people they represent, and I think people are way too irresponsible these days so there doesn't seem to be any real consequences for inaction (or bad action) in Canada. As Metallica would say "Sad but true" - TJTD
Surcharge added for eating unhealthy?
Skydiving?
Smoking?
Drinking?
Not exercising enough times a week?
Etc.
Where do we draw the line?
Shall we just become communist and let the government dictate what we are allowed to do?

So, do you think Elias Pettersson will be as good as the greatest player in Canucks history? Henrik Sedin I'm talking about - of course. He wasn't the most talented, that goes hands down to Pavel Bure, but he was the greatest in a shallow sea of players. |

Problem is they have NOT put this to bed, they are still touting it as fact. Seems pretty obvious it isn't stopping (or even slowing) transmission. Lying also gives people reasons to not trust them and question their motives. I am fully vaxxed, but am very unimpressed with the shady tactics being employed by our government to coerce while claiming it's not mandated. Everyone has the right to make stupid decisions. - Nelson19777
Could you provide an example of a government/health official stating the vaccine completely prevents transmission? |

Yeah that information was at the forefront everywhere from what I saw. "The vaccine won't prevent you from getting Covid, but it can reduce the duration, severity, and liklihood of spreading to others" is what I recall hearing.
Not only do people seem to see in black and white more nowadays but they hear in it as well - NorthNuck
"The COVID-19 vaccine is saving lives. Vaccines do more than protect the people getting vaccinated, they also protect everyone around them. The more people in a community who are immunized and protected from COVID-19, the harder it is for COVID-19 to spread."
https://www2.gov.bc.ca/go...-19/vaccine/plan#register
"Like all COVID-19 vaccines in Canada, vaccines for children are free, safe and effective. When you get your child vaccinated, you protect them from severe illness from COVID-19 and reduce the spread of infection in your community."

Nobody said prevents. They all said reduced. See my post above this post. How are the numbers continuing to climb when the vaccine reduces transmission? |

I guess because you had a choice but are so stupid you didn't/don't realise it - just like your avatar is a choice. - TJTD
We had a socially distanced outdoor dinner and everyone in my family got their vaccines at the first possible time. So stupid what was I thinking! |

I hear what you're saying.
I think genome sequencing is pretty definitive though, not a lot of wiggle room to adjust the results.
Maybe Codes would know more?
But yes, with the head trauma, I totally agree. - dbot
Oh I believe genome sequencing. I'm not arguing that. I'm saying there's no proof the NHL are even using it nor am I gonna take Daley's word on the results.
Let's put it this way, when I had to have a Covid test a couple of weeks ago, had I tested positive everyone with known contact with me would have had to self isolate for 2 weeks following getting tested. Doctors say this is because of the incubation period.
NHL games are still played within that timeline despite this knowledge. If going by common medical practice, the Carolina game should've never happened due to exposure in Calgary. They should've self isolated for 2 weeks. Yet the NHL went against that medical opinion and let the game happen.
Hopefully this clarifies my point and why I don't really believe the NHL when they use science as an explanation for their logic. |

No.
I think EP40 will be a tier below Hank and Dank.
Maybe in the Naslund type tier.
I hope i'm wrong though.

That’s pretty dark. Why would that be funny? - CanuckDon
Your story was several unrelated historical details about your grandfather and then some weird toxic masculinity about how people are soft because they follow sensible steps to avoid contracting and spreading a virus. It think the lack of cohesion in that thought process would make the expected outcome more comical.
ex. Someone saying, "I can bench 300 pounds, so there is no way I'm soft enough to get herpes. No prophylactics for me!" And then they get herpes because those things have nothing to do with each other. |

It's not mandated dude, like everything else in life you are free to make whatever decision you choose, but there are consequences to your choices.
Going to dinner at earls is not a "right" IMO

At the beginning of the pandemic my parents invited me over for dinner and I declined. My dad said, your grandfather survived the Spanish flu and sewing bodies together during D Day (he was a surgeon) and you won’t visit your parents because of a flu with a high survival rate? He offered to sign a waiver that he accepted the risks of his son killing him with Covid. I attended family dinner: sometimes perspective is needed. What a soft world we live in - CanuckDon
I only wish ppl to moderate their own opinions on the pandemic & acknowledge it’s reality. Prudence & extra due care & attention is needed. When in grade 1 & had measles I was withheld from school. No internet & social media back then & nobody doubted that was a safe course of action. |

(other than second hand smoke, which is why you can't smoke inside anymore) all the things you listed have no effect on other people. |

Well said 👍 My concern is exactly about the consequences of choice. The irresponsible & cavalier ppl should accept the risk & cost if any. |
