I think they'll add a couple of more guys still, but maybe not until after the season, mid-season is a terrible time to rebuild a front office. - Nucker101
From what I saw, Rutherford was going to have 3 AGM and going to mentor them.
It honestly seems like there is a new covid positive in the NHL every hour
Makar and keumper the latest to test positive. - Codes1087
Bergeron and Kuznetzov as well
Edit Fabbri as well, but only protocol until officially announced. I have 4 forwards and a d out this week. Probably next as well.
I've heard events to 50% capacity. 1 other household as a "bubble". Limit to 10 people in a house at once. Not sure what it will mean for hospitality industry. I think we are officially in the 5th wave now though.
I'd agree except that we're not talking about 3rd liners or 5/6 defensemen though, if they're only aiming to be fringe forwards/d-men, then it shouldn't matter whether you promote from within, or take players from other organizations. You're not expecting them to contribute that much anyways and only act as injury replacements for short bursts. - DariusKnight
I'm not sure I follow. If you bring in guys as depth players from other organizations then they have essentially taken a position away from someone who has worked within your own to earn their role. How does this promote healthy internal competition? Not only that, but there's familiarity between players within the room and Coaching staffs that develop over time. If you know a player and their strengths and weaknesses wouldn't that make it easier to work with them regardless of what role they take in the lineup?

I don’t care what they do as long as they do it after we beat the leafs on Saturday!

IMO,
You are undercutting your development process when you sign a fringe NHLer to FA dollars. The odd PTO is OK as it promotes extra competition at camp, but still how many times do they work out over any length of term?

How often does a developed player work out instead?
Stay scared over the holidays folks! 😵💫 - CanuckDon
It's sort of hard to argue against it when the island just broke isn't single day record for cases and omicron is confirmed to be among them. My kids aren't old enough for the Vax so I'm for anything that helps protect them.
Also, Boudreau seemingly set up the 4th goal on the timeout

Thanks Northy, that was good to hear the interaction between the players. All this BS narrative that there is tension between players is just absolutely comical.

Also, this falls to your pro scouting dept, which ours sucks. I thought bringing in Nichushkin a couple of years ago when he was flaming out with Dallas was a good idea... It took most NHL teams to pass on him before it worked out with the Avs. And now he is looking like a steal.
