Would love to sign JTM to a 3-4 year team-friendly deal, but that guy is going to want a 7 year deal getting paid top dollar (in line with his stats). Which he deserves. That's not great for the Canucks short-term cap-wise and long-term player-wise.

He's clearly one of the top players for the team, which is also why he's their best trading piece to bring back a haul.
