Colorado doesn’t count because Shesty didn’t play either game. I’ll make excuses too - Slimtj100
Georgiev has been solid
but when Shesty isn't playing, they really miss his puck playing ability getting the transition game going

Do I think we are a threat for the cup itself, no I don't. However, I haven't seen anything to suggest we can't win a round or two. Just remember, both the 07-08 Hawks and the 12-13 Lightning missed the playoffs before improving rapidly. I'm not saying we are as good as those teams, but it's not out of the question that we could go from nothing to contenders overnight - 2sticks1puck
The thing is we have cap space right now that we will not have next year. Its like the Lightning, who were an already good team, getting Kutcherov back from LITR. We essentially have house money to play with. Weve got more prospects to develop than we know what to do with. Why not say fk it and trade a pick that will undoubtedly be a late one. Why not trade a prospect that we probably would never be able to ice anyway? |

Thats what drives me crazy. Only make arguments to fit your narrative as they say. Meanwhile we had a guy who never played a game in the NHL vs them (got blown out obviously) and in Colorado it was a one goal game basically where they played pretty well overall. They probably get a point that game at least with Lord Shesty

I can get into this idea, using the cap money this year to make the team better
the Shane Wright talk is best reserved for after season

I think they will use the money at the deadline for an expiring contract

we can't win anything meaningful with this team as it currently stands unless Shesty steals it. filling that "Hunt" spot in the top 6 and maybe getting someone to bump Nemeth out as rentals would go a decent way toward the ultimate goal |

don't see why we would ever be on that list. we still can't afford him past this year without not being able to resign strome most likely |

I would tend to agree but you never know.
They could flip him at the deadline but probably going to lose some value there. Or they have a tough decision to make. |

I really dont see Nemeth as being an impediment. He is a decent 7th D. He is better than what Colorado has out there (JJ) and they are a cup fav. Hunt in the top 6 is a problem however

nemeth isnt our 7th defenseman right now. he's guaranteed a spot every game |

While I don't 100% disagree with you I wouldn't consider winning a round in the playoffs meaningless. It's a long journey and they need to taste the post season and ultimately lose to get that drive. They're not going to construct a juggernaut overnight and go through the playoffs with a team that has almost zero playoff experience. |

anything can happen in the playoffs, especially when you have a Hart finalist, a Norris winner and a Vezina candidate
