Why is Connolly out? If the Hawks are trying to win games he should be in the lineup....he did score a goal last game. Hawks have trouble scoring goals. Gabriel is more or less a useless AHL talent. He shouldn't be in the lineup if the Hawks are trying to win now or trying to develop young talent.

I don't recall Connolly scoring but he played a good, assertive game.

No. He didn't. He also had zero SHG in his 11+ minutes of ice time.

Those two really have no clue about the way the game is played today, not sure they knew how the game was played back in the day either.

I agree Paul, but heard Ken Daneyko this am on NHL radio. He did say the game has significantly changed since he played, but the policeman's role is never going away. He cited the Avalanche getting Kurtis McDermid because they were run out of the building by Vegas who had Reeves (who the Rangers got from Vegas because of tom Wilson)

I think the enforcer is always going to be there, but , the enforcer still have to be hockey players i.e. (Ferguson with Montreal, Shack/Tiger Williams with Toronto, O'Reilly with Boston)

used to be the superstars stood up for themselves (Howe, Hull, etc.), but the investment and marketing of players now, the owners will pay someone else to throw the fists (Could you imagine Connor McDavid getting into a fight and having his jaw broken, and playing with a cage drinking milk shakes for a month.

Unless the NHL switches to allowing non-symptomatic players to play, I'm pretty sure they are going to shut down a lot/most teams very shortly.

The NFL and NFLPA are discussing postponing this weekend's games. EPL is in discussions to pause their season until Jan. Wouldn't be surprised to see the NHL shut down for a couple of weeks which would in all likelihood take the NHL out of the Olympics.

Being a jagoff should never have been a coaching tactic. It worked in college because they were kids and weren't there long enough for someone to kick the coach's ass.

Yeah, it seems they consider a positive test to be a symptom. I wonder if the testing is better now, I can't remember how many stories I have read in the last two years about false positives and false negatives.

Like a good umpire! The best umpired games are the ones where nobody notices the umpire.

The Hawks slow start is really showing in the standings right now. There were some winnable games at the start they they let slip away and they aren't gaining ground with the back and forth wins and losses lately. If they don't find another gear, they will not get back into the race. It's doable, there are some trash teams ahead of them that should slow down, but time is ticking.
