Edler did that for a decade and all people did was complain, it’s in our nature. I don’t mind OEL as a player, I hate the trade, and I’m not confident he’ll be able to provide value as that contract ages. For now though, no complaints on his performance. - 1970vintage

Patience, we are in a major transition period away from bad things. We’re not winning the Cup this year, lots of positives happening!! Give him time. - LeftCoaster
Telling you for some it's only what they are doing at that moment.
18 points in 17 playoff games. People were talking 10M a season easily for him. Now he's not worth 7M.
No idea why some Canucks fans got so mad about Benning's day by day dealings. |

Not for some . For all. Fans that complain about a player playing a bad 24 games are no different from the ones planning a parade after a six game win streak.

OEL's buyout in 2023 is actually not that bad.
23-24 $146,667
24-25 $2,346,667
25-27 $4,766,667
27-31 $2,126,667
For most but the 2 years, savings upwards of 5M is pretty good. |

We also moved out 12 mil . I never had a problem with OEL because he is good . - VANTEL
Expiring contracts totalling 12 mil which become free space next year.
We actually took on 6 years at 7.2 mil with OEL. Which is over 43mil and a contractual commitment until 2027. |

No, he’s a decent player. Still hate the trade. Should have just waited the one year for all that garbage to expire and then been able to target what the team really needed to do to upgrade. |

Contrary to some on here, I haven't been overly impressed with his play. He had a good preseason and first few games but has been pretty meh since. |

He’s doing “a” job but maybe not “the” job? I wouldn’t consider him a #1 dman on a team anymore, but he’s been pretty good. He’s basically 3 or 4 years ago Edler. |

Toni Utunen.
He plays on the same team as Lukas Jasek.
Utunen has actually been playing first or second pair pretty much all year.
Has as many points as he did last season in 22 less games.
Pelicans are also a top team in the league.
Utunen also has to be signed by June 1, 2022 or becomes a free agent.

Petey struggled all by himself & nobody else is to blame. He didn’t take the next step & obvious he wasn’t prepared this season. - Nighthawk
Lots of players struggled under green.
Yes he has himself to blame, but 4 pts in his last 6 is improvement under a new coach. Let's face it, he continues like he has these last 6 and has a few breakout games along the way, and people will praise him again. |

So Utunen, Woo, Rathbone? Sounds like the Canucks depth on D problems are over!
just in case it wasn’t clear from my tone. |

Some D in the system are further along than 3-4yrs. Others maybe in the next wave. Future drafted D come next unless a gem drafted or found then sooner for them. |
