Idk?
Most owners don’t pay for the stadiums themselves
It’s a rarity - jdfitz77
Call me old fashion, but if I I dropped 1.4 billion on a football team, why not drop another 1 billion plus on the stadium and land. This way you don’t have to be a tenant any more and the teams value is that much more valuable. I assume the Bills are responsible for the upkeep for The Ralph anyways? Also if the Pegula’s offered to pay for it them selves, they would probably get some sweet tax breaks and the citizens of New York’s taxes wouldn’t go up. |

Agreed - jdfitz77
Well can you blame them for not wanting to wait a extra couple years before they can open, cause that's what it will take to get the infrastructure in place. So instead of 2025-26 the new Stadium opening, it could be 2027-28. The lease runs out after next year, and the Pegula's already said they won't sign a extension. |

I believe they said they won't sign an extension until the commitment for a new statdium is inked.
Smart move. Looks like Hochul is on board...I have to imagine they'll get their commitment soon enough....but it is NYS, Erie Cnty still, so who knows how they'll find a way to F it up

Sorry was just reading some stuff, you are correct about the extension, they said they would extend 2-3yrs if a plan was in place. Still don't think they would want to wait the extra year or 2 it could take just to get the infrastructure in to start building. |

100% agree on the delay factor.
Now it will be interesting if they consider a dome, or at least a partial covering for the majority of seats.
Also, I wonder about the timing of an arena rennovation... will it be an extensive o overhaul, or a minor fix-up |

Decent read! - Buff36
Ya, I like the job Donnie is doing...seems like the perfect fit for the needs of this club this season and next.
He has room to grow as an in game bench boss for sure...hopefully some OJT during that time for he and his staff. |

I really don't want a Dome, I love the outside atmosphere, I would take a retractable so it could be used for more things during the Winter. The Arena needs a overhaul. |

Donnie has them believing and that along with confidence can be big, especially with the lack of talent he has right know. He will grow right along with the team, it will be real interesting when he has Krebs, JJ, Quinn, Samuelsson, Power in the lineup, his in game decisions will be more magnified. |

The Sabres play like a competent team, albeit one that endured a skid of one win in 12 games. That ghastly 1-9-2 slide hurts this club’s comparison to the previous 11 editions of the Sabres.
Through 30 games, the results for this edition of the Sabres most closely resemble those from the lockout-shortened season of 2012-13 and the tanking club from 2014-15. The 2012-13 team finished 12th in the Eastern Conference, seven points out of a playoff spot. The team in 2014-15 started relatively well before finishing last in the NHL, as planned.
With just a small uptick, this season’s team could finish ahead of the two editions it trails. The 2019-20 Sabres finished 21st in the NHL at 2.80 goals per game. The 2018-19 team ranked 23rd at 2.70.
The Sabres give up goals, in part, because they give up a lot of shots. They allow 34.1 per game, the third-highest total in the NHL. The goaltenders have combined for a .906 save percentage, brought down by Aaron Dell’s .872, Malcolm Subban’s .877 and Dustin Tokarski’s .903. The numbers for Subban and Tokarski include career-best performances, with each goalie making 45 saves in a game this season.
i believe this was the plan that was expected: exciting losses followed by a top pick in the 2022 draft |

So I'm coming up to Rochester in a few days...what shall I expect for Masking in NYS?
Is there a strict mandate, I assume yes. |

it seems like he's really developed a good feel for his team, the nhl game and how they can succeed on a nightly basis while also showing the ability to adapt to what's being thrown at him...
of course solid-to-excellent goaltending helps immensely |

You could see the confidence growing in the players the more UPL played. Donnie has a balancing act here, trying to find line combos and who have a feel for each other, he has carried combinations a little longer than he probably should have. IMO you want to find atleast 2 guys that mesh right know on a line. The other partner will be here next year with the roster turnover. |

it's a process...chemistry has a tendency to come and go as with the production that goes along with it...the main thing is to make sure each and every player plays the game the way it's designed...
a good example might be skimmer who seems to be more dedicated to the defensive end than he's ever been (at least in buffalo)...this is not to say he's a selke candidate but he's doing things in his own end and away from the puck that coaches have been wanting him to do |

Very much a process, especially a young team. Think Skinner likes playing for Donnie, that could be cause he's actually playing more than 10min a night but seems to have bought into what Donnie is trying. |

Should have done it earlier, but smart to do it, would have been great to have Columbus come to town and next thing you know 5 players and half are coaching staff including Donnie which would be very bad for him test positive. |

is the case rate so high because the disease is "bad" or is it high because we are unnecessarily testing people who we would have no idea if they had it because they have no symptoms. |
