April 2020 there were hospitals in my area that were cutting ER staff. Another hospital in my area no longer has a maternity ward, cause they cut staff. So you may be right that the forcing of people to get the shot isn’t causing this 100 percent, but it didn’t help. If your going to force people to get the jab or lose their job, then we should force fat people to go on diets. We should also force smokers of cigarettes and weed to quit or lose their jobs and not treat drug abusers as well. Since these demographics makes up over 70% of the hospitalizations.

Being fat doesnt effect anyone else except the person that is fat. Someone with covid and is unvaxxed is more likely to transmit the virus.

A lot of the beds are being taken up from people who had covid and are now recovering from it even months later. They don't even have covid anymore.

Yup as long as it is a civil conversation, it certainly has it's place especially since it is causing NHL games to be cancelled.

I got the first round, passing on booster.
I was very much pro-vacc at first.

Now im, its not as effective as we were told something aint right, do what you feel is right for you.

I know more people who are not getting shot 3 than who have not gotten the shot.

I don't inherently disagree, and I am vaxxed, but tbh and fair here, how can this be measured without just straight volunteer random sample testing at a very high level? If you are vaxxed, you probably don't even realize you have COVID and thus don't get tested. I know from experience very early last year when I had it pre vaxxination that I didn't even know I had it. It would seem to be that this is a talking point to convince people to get vaxxed, even though it's likely impossible to prove, again without random high test sampling, of both populations. We know that you can transmit either vaxxed or not, and this kind of hops on Pach's point of the people that have gotten it have gotten it and the people that haven't probably aren't. Maybe I'm being naive to this, but so much stuff has just been "oops we were wrong about that" and this one seems to be fairly obvious that both can spread it, at probably consistent levels.

If that’s the case, then why in the NHL shutting down? Isn’t the NHL over 95% shot up? Fat people and smokers who get COVID has a higher rate of hospitalizations then people who don’t smoke and people who aren’t over weight. I should have been more clear.

if it was 98% mostly unvaccinated then sure, but its more like 60/40 and that rate is declining.

Just surprised given the result of a quick stop last time, where teams didn't have similar games played. Letting some teams get ahead by a half dozen games seems like it could factor into competitiveness later in the year.

Agreed, but the other half of that problem is that when the experts are talking, they talk with conviction and absolutism like it can't change. Maybe if (insert expert here who you may or may not disagree with) didn't walk to a mic like he had the biggest Richard in the room (planet) and say this is how it is, instead of this is a fluid situation and we'll update asap, there wouldn't be that. On the flip side to this, other people would then scream "you weak bro" at that person.
