Sad news. Former Canucks & Flyers Head Coach Bob McCammon passed away this morning at the age of 80. He was runner-up for Coach of the Year with the Canucks in 88-89.

I get everyone thinks that changes need to happen yesterday because the team is close the cap. But as has been the case for years now, all this trade this guy or that guy because the are worth their most or it will cost sooo much to requalify him or I don't think he is good enough is always addressed one way or another and never the way people speculate how things happen.

Myers is a good defenceman, Boeser is a good winger, Hughes will win a Norris in his career.

Much like Rathbone being Hughes replacement befire this season, scoring that much at the show level isnt easily replaced. Im a long way from thinking he is as good as Boeser when he isnt good enough to tie his skates right now.

Looking at his transaction history and teams he's built, he seems to favour having a strong forward group over a strong blueline so I think people hoping to see a big name forward moved out for a dman might end up disappointed.

Hopefully that's the case. We've seen enough draft choices moved out. Build off what we have and we can look at acquiring a solid RHD another way. Moving Boeser now for a quick fix on D is asinine. Hopefully Rutherford will balance it all out.
