Fine, you must be right, but you ain’t coach. At this point in time Gabby’s giving him that opportunity. I’m hopeful that EP can shake this funk. I’m not ready to accept that his rookie season was a fluke.

I think Bruce will figure out pretty soon. Green was too dense to admit mistake and move him to the wing

FO’s are only 1 part of being a C. It’s on him to improve his win%.
He can go to the video room & self teach like anybody else can.

He can play C but he’s far from on his game. He isn’t even dangerous.

True. Let’s hope the new coaching staff is up to the challenge. A dangerous Pouty is the best kind of Pouty.

Miller is good at faceoffs. Excellent to be honest. But not sure if he’s a full time centre. If EP moves to the wing, that’s another hole to fill.

If trades are made I want assets spent on defence. Leave the forward group alone because we ain’t making the playoffs so it’s about fixing the defence for next season. Let EP sink or swim as a centre and re-assess over the summer.

It is an important part otherwise you play trying to get the puck.

Yeah I totally agree. Winning a faceoff in the offensive zone is still the best way to score a goal IMO. So many scoring chances are generated by that winning faceoff.

You were a believer and now not? You think his rookie season was a fluke? Do you think his decline is a result of injury, attitude, or lack of skill?

Lord, I hope his funk is injury related and is something that will pass. If not, then fate just kicked Canuck fan in the nuts once again. When will fate’s leg get tired?

Outside of faceoffs, like you said he is excellent at, I do prefer Miller as a power forward winger for sure.
As for Petey, what is his value truthfully now? If he maintains this pace and ends up with 40 points, that's 3 seasons of meh in a row. His only value would be keeping him at that point and hopes he regains any value. Tough position for the team to be in. I'm glad the guy that drafted him won't be the one making the decision either way.

No argument here. It’s on Petey to work on it. Still saying a C can have a winger on the dot. It’s a skill few take seriously. Pros work on every part of their game to be the best.

It is not lack of skill, imo. But the saying about try beating skill might apply here. he spends way too much time on the ice. He needs the Pavel secret Roid' cycle to beef up. As for his rookie season, he caught a lot of people by surprise with that whipping wrister. It isn't a surprise anymore.

I don't think it was a fluke . I think he was hungry back then but then started reading headlines about how great he was.

He use to be the last one off the ice doing drill after drill hour after hour. He then went on to recording with Buble and starting his clothing line. He had that mysterious injury last year and was occupied with other things. I think he has fallen way off track and it is going to be a challenge to get back.

Attitude seems way off where it was and where it needs to be.

Like I said before, he isn't a player to build a team round. He is the type that gets added to a winning roster with established leadership group. He is Nylander West and stuck at centre to top it off.

I think his short term contract is tradable. His stats of 71g, 98a, 169pts in 196 games and a career +17 is also very tradable. His contract suggests that the Canuck organization is not worried about production so other teams wouldn’t suspect his initial success was not repeatable.

I think at this point you could definitely trade him for a very good, young star player.

Yeah, you and ASL are spot on. He needs to be on a winning team. I’m hoping that the new coaching and management team can improve the team for next season. I think the holes they have are not insurmountable and with a bit of vision this team can be competitive for next season.

Elias has to be on a winning team to perform? If that’s truly the case, he has to go. You want your highest paid player to drive play, not be a passenger

No offers for Petey?
Must be untouchable & his contract is in the way of future resignings. My only untouchables are Demko & Hughes. ELC’s included solely due to cap management.
