I don't think it was a fluke . I think he was hungry back then but then started reading headlines about how great he was.
He use to be the last one off the ice doing drill after drill hour after hour. He then went on to recording with Buble and starting his clothing line. He had that mysterious injury last year and was occupied with other things. I think he has fallen way off track and it is going to be a challenge to get back. - VANTEL
I think the kid does have some confidence issues right now and is recovering from something but I’m not sure I believe his music and clothing stuff is interfering with his hockey. He can multitask, most of these young stars do. They are more like brands than just players. Success is good for the brand at every level. They don’t sacrifice one for the other.
Like Tony Montana. |

Elias has to be on a winning team to perform? If that’s truly the case, he has to go. You want your highest paid player to drive play, not be a passenger - CanuckDon
There is much to what you say. Is it youth & be patient or sell high? |

This team is competitive right now. - Load Management
I agree somewhat. I didn’t think they would make the playoffs at the start of the season and that’s because of their defence. It’s still an issue that will catch up with them when the high of new leadership wears off or when the push for playoff position gets serious.
But one or two trades and a good draft and I think we are back on track. |

Not every player can be a leader. Some players are one dimensional snipers. But when deployed correctly, they are are a cornerstone to any winning franchise. |

He’s a sniper & stick handler. Both great skills but neither is shining nor even occasionally enough. He doesn’t drive the play & hasn’t nearly been dangerous enough in a long time. |

Canucks get points 7 games in a row... 9 of last 10.
Don't let that stop the narratives. |

Technically OEL is the highest paid player on the Canucks. 8.25 mil per. |

Was Gibson asleep? - VANTEL
Feels like the score could have been 5-1 if not for Gibson. He's a damn good goalie but he 100% should have challenged miller on that OT goal lol |

Well my opinion on Petey as a Center and a captain/leader was pretty unpopular over the last couple of seasons. So I just sit back and laugh now that most are coming around on it.

Beat the Kings tomorrow and this team jumps them in the standings. Same with SJ if they lose. Thats from 7th to 5th and closing in on Calgary and Edmonton who lost today. A couple of games from now, Canucks could be in 4rth. |

Never thought he was either of a leader or Captain. As for C he has much work to do. Driving play being priority then win some FO’s along the way. |

I usually ridicule excuses but it’s been a difficult time for two seasons with injuries and covid, but career numbers are still solid with loads of potential for such a young player. If we can wait for GMJB to stumble his way around for years then we should cut Pouty some slack and give him three years to get his game back. |

Yeah. He froze pretty good there. He's not an overly aggressive Goalie to begin with. Probably the time off finally showing itself. |
