Summary for those who didnt see it? Where they outplayed again? - hello it's me 2050
Severely for almost the entire game. However, still got the two pts and Provy was very good including his ot goal which was incredible. Great pass and even better move at the end.
All three of our top d had their moments including Sanheims pass on the 2nd JVR goal. We just lost almost every physical battle in the o zone and neutral zone.
Jones was very good again. |

Can anyone tell me why our previous coach refused to put G at center?
Even when we were desperate for Centers he refused to put him back there.
That’s one change Yeo has made which is an absolute no brainer. |

Watched the whole game and they didn't show up till the 3rd period. Some players had jump, Willman did for example, JVR was good. The rest of the 4th line was caved in. The rest of the lines had very little chemistry. The 3rd D pair was terrible, 2nd pair was decent, Provy was solid, Braun was solid for Braun but they can't keep playing him top pair. TK was engaged and stirring it up. Frost makes plays some can't but also struggled in battles. Breakouts did not happen. They did seem to click much better in the 3rd and OT. No, they cant play like this and beat even average teams.
They missed Laughton and Coots a ton. Thinking of it, Hayes did look a little better but still long way to go. - wcorvette

one quote and a pretty good summary of the Flyers current situation
“If the rebuild would’ve went the way they wanted it to go, he (Giroux) wouldn’t be the best player on the team anymore.”
-Charlie O’Connor
Charlie O’Connor of The Athletic recently summarized the organization’s overreliance on Giroux because of their inability to develop top-tier NHL talent to replace him.
add to prior post, like the fact they actually had a player in the bumper position, G fed JVR and boom a goal |

If a team is missing Scot Laughton a ton, how good is said team?

Typical Flyers game for the most part. Showing up for a period or two, just skirting by.
Well on their way to a Moral Cup victory.
Assuming the Flyers keep their first rounder, who will they pick with the 15th overall? What does the cap situation looks like after Fletcher resigns Giroux and Risto for market rates? |

The Flyers were significantly outplayed through the majority of the first period and the lion's share of the second stanza as well,
-bmeltzer
Through 2 periods last night, the Flyers only mustered 11 shots on goal ... AGAINST AN EXPANSION TEAM!! The Flyers finished with 22 shots, and 10 of them came in roughly the last 10 minutes of the game, right after the go ahead goal by the Kraken was disallowed because of goalie interference. Up to that point, this team was a complete no show! The Kraken were literally skating circles around the Flyers for almost the entire game. This had nothing to do with rust, since both teams had not played since Dec 18th! This had everything to do with a Flyers team that once again was not ready to compete or even unwilling to compete! Once again, the only player that showed up for the entire game was Martin Jones; where would the Flyers be this year without their goalies??
Last night was just more evidence that supports that the only one course of action for Fletcher is to sell off as many veterans as he can and start building again through the draft. The one good from last night? JVR scored 2 more goals! Maybe he can get hot and build a market for himself. Look, no one thought the Flyers could get rid of Jake but they did, maybe there is a glimmer of hope for JVR at this point. Other than that, this team has got to go all in for Bedard in 2023. They need to get faster and they need to get themselves true top players in the league again. |

I have been posting this forever it seems, good PPs attack the center of the ice and utilize that bumper player while bad PPs spend oodles of time using along the boards!

Hayes looked more like himself last night skating wise than I have seen him since 2019, but he did have some rust. That pass by TK (I think?) to Hayes in the slot should have been a goal! |

It was ugly but I guess a win is a win. Honestly, the only difference between this season and last is that they are getting good to excellent goaltending more often than not. Other than that, this is still a mediocre team at best. |

Think it was Elliot Freidman 31 thoughts. Said or speculated oiler, leafs, and another team (cant remember who) would have serious interest in RR if they decide to move him. Too lazy to try to find it. |

Thing is, they weren’t blessed with as much talent of the hop as Vegas. I was still completely shocked they made the final year 1. Seattle just doesn’t have the squad.
Take the two points. What’s that 5 0 and 1 in last 6? - Hextall271
Seattle's goaltending has been absolute dog poop, particularly Grub. Wouldn't matter how much talent they had if they're almost always spotting the other team 1-2 soft goals per game. |

Giroux played a lot of minutes at the center spot under Vigneault.

If the Krakken had received quality goaltending, they'd probably be a playoff team. Also equal, if not better than the Flyers. |

Do you no longer feel that the Flyers should build around Ristolainen?

Probably healthier to start the season minus Hayes. I think G at center is like plan C or D to them. |

ok lets stir the pot...
The Flyers should make the playoffs. They will get healthy at the right time, make 1 trade to upgrade speed. Frost will play well, Willman along with a revamped 4th line will be a surprise, playing with speed and energy. Ellis comes back making a real 1st pair. Sanheim and RR continue to improve. Braun anchors the 3rd pair and after breaking the iron man record KY is benched, York gets some reps and we have a decent 3rd pair. The D remembers how to do a center break out and Flyers become threat that is not a cup threat but that teams would rather not play. |

Charlie’s point is spot on. So if you can’t draft those players, I guess you either have to trade or sign UFA’s in order to stay competitive. If you screw those decisions up it’s a tough go in a cap world….mistakes are magnified. To me, Holmgren, Hextall and up till now Fletcher all share in the blame. |

Yandle will play at least until 1000 games. He wont sit at all prior and likely not after imo.
