i agree with all that. I also hope that the studio makeup team is back at work. Taryn and Hartnell looked a little rough. Hartnell always does but Taryn seemed a little less well put together than usual. I will say that they are an unusually negative broadcasting crew. Not often that a team's own analysis group would be so negative. - iamscore2day
They might be doing their own makeup to cut down on possible Covid transmission. Calling Taryn "rough' is unusually negative. |

Haha. Well that’s a real issue then. If we start rolling taryn out looking less than stellar I’m gonna find a new favourite team. |

It's no surprise the World juniors were cancelled. Pretty much no precautions were taken. What did they expect to happen?
Slovakian Goalie ripped the Organizers for the cancellation and who can blame him.

Simon Edvinsson:
Yeah... according to Swedish players, who stayed at the same hotel as USA, said that there was a wedding hosted at the hotel with ~100 guests. And there were barbers within the hotel that people used, so even though the players mostly sat in their room and played games and such, the whole operation was far from a bubble.
We've seen people running around without masks and already when we came to the hotel you thought "what the (frank) is this?"
Gotta love hockey players being honest |

Hartnell either needs to commit to the beard or shave off the stubble. It may look good in person, but it doesn't look good when his face is 2' high in glorious HD. |

I'm really disappointed by Hartnell. He doesn't even attempt to give any insightful hockey information. Wish they would take the opportunity, between periods, to teach me something about hockey or maybe show me what's going on in the rest of the league. |

Hartnell is a good guy and was a good player but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Giroux played a lot of minutes at the center spot under Vigneault. - MJL
He took a ton of draws, but lined up at left wing for the most part.
We screamed about it at Wells Fargo. Game after game.
Even when we started the year shorthanded with Brassard as our 2nd line center he had g on the wing. |

Well said.
This is why I’ve spent most of my life watching hockey night in Canada. Flyers go to intermission, I change channel, Don Cherry will tell you a story and show you the direct mistakes in the first period.
If I’m being honest, I’m easily baited into arguments but I’m not on this site to show how big my balls are. I’m here to learn. A lot of could learn from each other if we actually listened to each other. I hated MJL when I first started coming here but after awhile if you listen, you realize he’s one of the top 3 smartest hockey guys on this page. I don’t agree with everything he says but you can’t mistake him for stupid. |

Wawawoowa, Bill! You're burnin' the midnight oil tonight for sure.
I take it you must be building up your sleep-deficit immunity for the New Year's festivities?
That's smart... staying at a Holiday Inn Express smart.
Thanks, and I expect you to do likewise tomorrow early AM too (come what may)! - Bendecko

I disagree. Seattle had every chance to build a good team. Francis screwed himself over by being stubborn. There were players he skipped over. Just looking at the Flyers, he could have taken Voracek which would have given them a top player for free. Its not like they are up against the cap. They have 11 Mill in cap space - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Would you not say that Seattle is executing a fairly deliberate plan and it has little to do with stubbornness? As soon as I started seeing the kind of owners they had, and other factors, I suggested even before the ED that they felt little pressure to be immediately contending/competitive, unlike Vegas. Everything that happened since then seems to bear me out.

Watched the whole game and they didn't show up till the 3rd period. Some players had jump, Willman did for example, JVR was good. The rest of the 4th line was caved in. The rest of the lines had very little chemistry. The 3rd D pair was terrible, 2nd pair was decent, Provy was solid, Braun was solid for Braun but they can't keep playing him top pair. TK was engaged and stirring it up. Frost makes plays some can't but also struggled in battles. Breakouts did not happen. They did seem to click much better in the 3rd and OT. No, they cant play like this and beat even average teams.
They missed Laughton and Coots a ton. Thinking of it, Hayes did look a little better but still long way to go. - wcorvette

I hate to throw out the obvious and I don’t have anything against you myself, but in most of your daily arguments, you’re on an island all by yourself. - SuperSchennBros
Nooo!! You don't say! Really?!
Less facetiously, that has very little to do with what you posted. About which I have no interest in disputing you. I personally feel there are at least 20 posters (and I am not one of them) on this blog who are significantly more perceptive/insightful than MJL. One of them would be Bird_Dog_Pa.

Wack job about everything outside hockey, but decent hockey insight.
I am not arguing with you. These things are opinions. But for what is worth, here is mine.
MJL gives the allusion of having good hockey sense. He is good at shooting down silly theories etc. But if you press him, insights turn to mush, after which it becomes the usual endless circuitous argumentation.
There used to be more guys here I could learn from. But if there was an argument, and I had only the information that MJL was arguing with another guy, and I had to choose whose side to take, I would choose the other guy if he was one of:
Bill, Tomahawk, Landros2, Buzzcut, BlackHand, Hello Its me 2050, MBFlyersFan, FlyersFan3260, and several others.
That's just me though. From my island.

I was quite impressed, really impressed by Hayes circa 2019-20. I mean, wth happened to that guy? I really hope it is injuries/Covid/Jimmy. If not, he will make the Lecav contract look good. |

His skating is the ugliest. It hurts me to watch him. It was a hell of a pass to Provy for the ot goal tho. |
