I'd like to change the page on covid, but we aren't there yet.
the narratives on here are funny to stupid.
Happy New Year!
My wife's sister and husband are staying with us for 6 weeks. Mother in law already lives here, downstairs with one of her brothers. I bought 2 cases of wine when they arrived 3 weeks ago, gone through 16 bottles over 3 weeks. instead of biting my tongue, I take a drink. and excuse myself to watch hockey.
I'm upset games are canceled. - hillbillydeluxe
Wow, that’s a lot to ask one family, you and your wife, to go through….stay strong, “this too shall pass”!!

Seahawks need a bit of a re-tool, but they do have one of these

You see Antonio Brown give up on his team today? Never seen anything like that before. Even danced across the field with his shirt off while the teams were playing. Reminded me of that scene in Slapshot.

Just heard Bradshaw and Michael Strahan talking about it, bizarre situation. The guy has some mental health issues.
Agree not sure how much freedom the new GM will have under Rutherford but time will tell. When Rutherford gets his sights set on a player new GM or not snap decisions/trades could be made for better or for worse. Seen that movie in PIT a bunch of times.
Miller is a big question mark. Guy is easily our best player right now and do we turn the corner with/without him after his deal is up? Probably going to need to keep him here to take that next step but the contract could be questionable and even if he wants to stay lol
Horvat is an exceptional 2LC but that's where he will top out. I lobbied for him to be Captain for awhile but that was misconstrued. Expected him to play tougher Hockey but he was mentored to be Captain by the Sedins so there is that 'softness' to his play...but having said that he is still a huge part of the core moving forward. Players play alot not to be hurt now and I think that is affecting Petey's game big time. Playing complacent. In his first few seasons sure he was a bit reckless but man did he get results. Not ready to toss the towel in on him just yet.
Things are super-rosy under Boudreau right now but that will change along with the narrative champs here when the first big losing streak under Boudreau happens...and it will happen. Just a question of injuries and when IMO.
Boeser? See where it goes. Boudreau has him playing hard Hockey and shooting the puck now. Once Petey starts with that quick release again and getting a few in the net his confidence will return just like it did with Hughes and Boeser. - LordHumungous
It’ll be more interesting to see how the team and specific players perform once the team loses a couple in a row and the happy honeymoon period ends.

Holy crap dude, I’m sorry to hear that.
Traditionally, my wife and I host Christmas for our entire family. We did all the shopping, cooking, cleaning, entertaining, and driving. We would even pay for the plane tickets and accommodations. They would show up and just sit there while we worked our asses off. The kicker… my mother and my wife’s mother don’t get along so there’s always loads of tension.
Three Christmas’ ago I said enough is enough and told them all we were burnt out and that it was their turn to host. Needless to say I wasn’t very popular. But then covid hit and we’ve had glorious Christmas’ since with just me, the wife, and two kids.
It was a Christmas miracle. - bloatedmosquito
It sounds like you were doing the right thing, changed things up and are now doing the right thing.
You were either popular or convenient.
Your covid family normal sounds like it should stay, at least for holidays!

When do you anticipate the happy honeymoon to end?
Apparently you haven't read or heard any of Rutherford's interviews where he addresses your hysteria. He has said each club he managed were at different stages and therefore he approached each one with different methods or tactics. He said he won't be trading high draft picks to fix things here. There is quite a bit more, you should read it.
Also, maybe Rutherford is looking for a GM that shares his plan for fixing things both long term and short term. Why pick a GM who doesn't believe in your direction? - Marwood
So to narratively whine about possible trades,
What to do?
Now,
Petey:
1) Keep him hoping he returns to a player that is worth the 7 mil currently and the 10 mil that some people on here thought he was...
2) Trade him for D / C help
3) Trade him for picks / prospects
After this season,
Brock:
1) Resign him if possible before the end of the season
2) Sign him to the QO and the risks that has to our future cap
3) Risk chasing him with a lower offer after he becomes a FA
4) Trade him for D help
5) Trade him for picks / prospects
After next season,
Miller:
1) Resign him if possible before the end of the season. Huge Bucks on possible declining player over the term.
2) Trade him for D / C help
3) Trade him for picks / prospects
4) Roll the dice on next season knowing he can walk for nothing.
Bo: Same as Miller
All these questions need to be asked and resolved at some point soon. Due to our salary cap, current team construction and prospect pool. Something has to happen as we are not contending anytime soon with the way this team is built when compared to the top teams.
And that is taking away nothing from the current streak we are on guys...

Man, do you have to crush someone's skull to show toughness? Just because other people don't meet your expectations of "toughness" it doesn't mean they aren't tough. Everyone could be doing better, not just Bo. I really dislike your use of "softness" because that's not what comes to mind when I think about the Sedins. I know for a fact that you, and myself, would not last in the type of hockey that the Sedins had to endure because of the outdated, toxic and neanderthalic viewpoints on what being tough is. Being an bumhole to other people doesn't make someone manly, it just makes them an bumhole.

I play a video game called Red Dead Redemption. The game developers are huge South Park fans. South Park creators are RDR fans. In the game you can meet the “donkey lady” as a homage to that exact SJP clip you posted.

I like the Rutherford hire think we are headed in the right direction. I watched his tenure quite a bit in PIT as I've been a Crosby fan for awhile as my cousin and Syd are very good friends to this day. Played Hockey and roomed together at Shattucks.
If a GM is picked that shares his vision all good. If it gets us three cups like in PIT I'm all for it lol. However the new GM will need some freedom away from Rughterford's influence is all I'm saying. If they work together to build a winner great. Rutherford has fleeced other GM's in deals and he has got hammered like Benning did on some too. When Rutherford sets his mind on a player/trade there is no stopping it. Can be a good/bad situation but for all intensive purposes so far with Boudreau and Rutherford here things look good for now. It sure will be interesting to see who finally gets the GM position.
