I like the Rutherford hire think we are headed in the right direction. I watched his tenure quite a bit in PIT as I've been a Crosby fan for awhile as my cousin and Syd are very good friends to this day. Played Hockey and roomed together at Shattucks.

If a GM is picked that shares his vision all good. If it gets us three cups like in PIT I'm all for it lol. However the new GM will need some freedom away from Rughterford's influence is all I'm saying. If they work together to build a winner great. Rutherford has fleeced other GM's in deals and he has got hammered like Benning did on some too. When Rutherford sets his mind on a player/trade there is no stopping it. Can be a good/bad situation but for all intensive purposes so far with Boudreau and Rutherford here things look good for now. It sure will be interesting to see who finally gets the GM position.

JR has said he’ll mentor the next GM. Given it’s not a retread which is unlikely. He never said meddle.

He’s building a bigger front office to cover all that was lacking & has the autonomy to do so.

It is his team , he is president . I sure hope he is hands on and meddles. I always liked how active he was and always one of the first ones out of the gates with trades.

If you want someone to just sit there and observe then you may as well just hire me or Nucker.

Or make an affirmative action hiring over qualification.

Toronto Maple Leafs centre Auston Matthews, Vegas Golden Knights winger Max Pacioretty and Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for December.

Way to go Demko. Now that’s a player you build around.

He’s doing good must be the Markstrom Effect!

If the Flames ever make the playoffs we’ll get to see for ourselves.

Markstrom won a series plus the qualifying round for the Canucks. He can win in the playoffs.

Nice just following along and having faith in management/coaching to make some decisions on the direction of this team.

Speaking of hurt, your Oilers #1 Smitty is on the shelf again. Time for Holland to trade some picks and prospects for a younger goalie. Betting on a 41 year old with groin injury history is typical for Oiler management.

No reason to panic at all. Even the best of the best go on slumps. Points in the last two games signs are it will turn around soon. Injury bug has hit just have to get through it. Holland will handle it. #faith
Oilers have been rebuilding since 2007 and the Flames have been rebuilding since 2005 so it's a tight race...lol

I'll settle it for you boys. Both teams suck giant Elephant balls. I hope they both go into the tank and stay there.

Welcome to a new week. Hope all is well!

New blog is up, with a look at where the Canucks stand, secondary scoring, Rutherford's plans and Demko's star.

lol K-man is only around when the Flames are winning which thankfully is only 50% of the time. It's a pretty easy handle.
