Eye test Makita. Elias has sucked for a long time. Time to pull your head out of the sand.
- CanuckDon

You are reactionary if nothing else. He has struggled to find his game, the same eye test you used on Boeser when he was struggling to find his game.
Pettersson with 5 points in 8 games under Boudreau, have some patience man, get your head out of the hyperbole stratosphere.

He has been awful under Bruce. 5 points, 11? It doesn’t matter. He hasn’t shown any positive signs in a very long time. He has to be the organization’s number one concern

Nope, I strongly disagree with your assessment, .625 point percentage in 8 games is not too shabby. He is getting better each game as Rutherford stated yesterday.

But I understand that some people just can't understand the effect a experienced professional coach can have over an inept closed minded coach that you actually quite liked and defended.

Green did a lot of damage to these young guys, the scamdemic didn’t help either.

You aren’t watching the games. You seem like a bright guy and there is no way you have watched the team on their win streak and think he has played well. Impossible

Yes I have watched every game, he is definitely getting better each game. It will come, all I'm saying is patience, no need to toss out a player that is just is getting into a stride.

Anyway enough of this, Rutherford will do what's best for the team, if he agrees with you and tosses Pettersson after 8 games then oh well, they'll be another to take his place.

I dont think he has improved at all. He may be trying harder but he isn’t driving play, complete liability earning $7MM. But yes agree to disagree. Let’s see what JR does

Something is up with Petey. His quickness isn’t there & his puck handling absolutely sucks. That new twig irritates da feck outta me watching him fumble around. Without the puck he’s ineffective mostly.

His ego is the highest in the league. When he doesn’t produce he just blames his teammates. The best players in the world crush the gym in the off-season . They are focused on the game. He isn’t. Which is fine but he can’t the leader of this team

Personally speaking I don’t like to see any player in any sport show frustration. Looking to the sky slamming a stick grabbing their face etc. For me it’s childish & serves zero purpose. Somehow it has become the acceptable norm I rather see a player if pissed off or frustrated go out & make it happen instead of pouting etc. Lead by example.

Group think fans frustrate me and yes I know fans are the epitome of group think...

First it's exaggerate the hell out of what a generational superstar rookies/young players are... as that narrative crumbles it shifts into how that said player is the worse in the league at this and that....

Here's how I see it... Petey is excellent at certain aspects of the game and that can be a huge part of the teams success. He just needs to work through some poop right now.

I never thought he was the leader so many built him up to be. I never thought he was top 5 center in the league. I always though he was projecting more confidence than he was capable of sustaining. So I don't feel betrayed(by my own delusions) and don't feel the need to tar and feather the kid. People think he's over paid? Right now, he is but he is what,,,33 games into that contract.... he can earn it if he gets back into form. Imagine if he got 10 mil instead like the majority though he was worth... then what? People would be calling for him to be hung from a lamp post over their own delusions or falling for media hype? People should be embarrassed of themselves...

Pretty good take & I’ll add he strung out signing & has started slowly. That is all on him Hughes is performing & earning his new big deal. A real pro would work on all aspects of their game & be ready. That hasn’t applied to Petey. I cannot find a single thing he has improved on let alone his strengths are not up to par. Overall he’s not a lost cause but he has to get it going there are no excuses. I want to see more hustle & determination.
