Ok, Canucks 1 game above .500 now.

Won 10 of last 12.

Points in 11 of last 12.

2 points out of a playoff spot.

Keep the narratives rolling. They are entertaining.

- boonerbuck

Lots of games in hand for the other squads.
Just keep winning Baby!
edit:
1 point behind Col for last WC spot, but they have 7 games in hand

What are these narratives you keep mentioning? Is it Donnie’s comments? Aren’t most people on board now? Sure, a few people are suspicious of this streak. But I don’t think it’s too far fetched to say there are still some issues with how this roster is built.

Which narratives? That their “star” players aren’t contributing? What’s changed ?
- CanuckDon

Beat me to it. I’m looking for narratives but can’t seem to find any on these threads.

There is for sure. Petey did so much tonight it masked them.

That one didn't even cross my mind...relax. Miller kept his point streak by the way. Larsen and Hughes got points as well... Boeser was hot before Covid as well... Bo playing big in recent games since you brought it up...

How about narratives like Canucks not being competitive, Canucks wont compete for a playoff spot, trade A, B, and C..., Benning's team is trash... etc etc etc...

1) They are playing competitive now that Green is gone
2) Trying to, but that is one big hole that they just got their head above now. Good for them.
3) Trades still need to happen especially Cap, Defense, and UFA wise.
4) Bennings team is not trash. flawed though to compete with any of the big boys.
5) Petey is and has been overrated

He is an absolute ghost out there. Most bizarre situation… even for a Canuck.

Agreed 100% but now isn't the time to make trades yet unless something that helps this team both long and short term happens. Definitely the wrong time to make a cap dump trade that creates a hole.

He'll be fine. He's young and working through some adversity. Most guys on here had more patience for Jake ffs.

I don’t think any fan is 100% satisfied with their team. Always looking for ways to improve. Canucks are definitely playing better but it’s still the same personal that produced such a poopy record during the first quarter of the season. The game against LA kind of snapped me back to reality. I recognized that team. So the bad habits are still lurking below all these wins.

Just not my type of player to build a team around. We can't pay huge dollars to fringe stars that don't contribute at all when not scoring.

1 loss in 8 or 9 games after a 9 day break with Covid issues and they came out of it with a point still being a wake up call? I would hardly call that coming "back to reality".

From the other night.
As far as Petey trade and who would I like to get for him.
NYR Braden Schneider (19th Overall 2020) and would they give up on Kappo Kakko?
Its his 3rd season and hasn't done much (51 career points). But he is big, fast and is still only 20. Having Schneider play with Huggy for years... would be sweet.
And NY always loves a star, so Petey go sell some clothes there.
Rosterhawk me a deal based on them. We will need to add something I'm sure to balance some salary out.

I said it snapped ME back to reality. I was giddy with all the winning but the LA game reminded me that there’s still loads of work to be done. I think JR and BB have stated the same.

Trust me, I’m enjoying Canuck hockey again but I’m not going to think that all problems are solved because they have a new prez and coach.

Anyway, “narratives” are so 2021. Let’s leave that type of talk behind us. It’s a new dawn for Canuck nation.

And so it was
As Miller told his tale
That Pouty’s face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale

I agree but their game against LA was one of their best. Given their circumstances they had no business getting a point

They got a point against LA because of outstanding goaltending. IMO, we’ve seen that before and it can create the illusion of competitiveness.

Again, just approaching this streak with cautious optimism. As canuck fans, isn’t that a sensible approach?
