Just not my type of player to build a team around. We can't pay huge dollars to fringe stars that don't contribute at all when not scoring. - carsonagenic
They're building this team around Demko. They also aren't paying Petey huge coin. |

Yeah, JR came out and said that Demko’s a franchise/star goalie and that’s the first step in building a great team. Next, defence. Music to my ears. |

I'd definitely wait on trading Petey. He led the best PP in the League only a couple of seasons back. Miller was good Horvat was good, Boeser not so much on the PP but Petey was world class when he was on his game.

How soon people forget that Miller had some maturity issues and his career had a up and down path to where he is now. But some people think he's heart and soul now and needs to be resigned.
Petey is 34 games into his new contract. Last season isnt really fair to focus on. Hughes would already be gone if the lynch mob in here had their way focusing on last season. Hopefully who ever is the GM soon doesn't do anything knee jerk. Leave that for the fans. |

JB was the one who had to convince FA to extend Green. If Benning couldn't see the problem with Green he's not a very good scout. If you see dog poop on the ground in front of you and still step in it, you shouldn't be in charge. - A_SteamingLombardi

Nobody is giving Petey away. Is he as good as he thinks he is & worth his contract to build around? |

Sedins should have been thrown out with the wash with how slow the 2nd and 3rd pick took to become stars. At least if that were the same formula applied as we are seeing by some today.
See, I didnt use the word narrative. |

Couldnt agree more. Hughes was a midget who couldmt defend for 50% of posters on here a few months ago |

If you trade a very young player who was just signed to a 7mil contract, then you are never going to get full value because it stinks of you giving up on said player... |

Define full value. Imo only a good package for Petey if a top RHD is in it. |

I don’t think any fan is 100% satisfied with their team. Always looking for ways to improve. Canucks are definitely playing better but it’s still the same personal that produced such a poopy record during the first quarter of the season. The game against LA kind of snapped me back to reality. I recognized that team. So the bad habits are still lurking below all these wins. - bloatedmosquito
Edmonton oilers stream rolled through the first 2 months and now can barely win a game. Still the same awesome personnel that produced such an awesome record in the first quarter of the season.
Works the exact same way, shiity roster is now winning, awesome roster is now losing.
Moral of my story...you just never know, no matter how sure you think you do. |

The game is so much mental and you get on a roll it steamrolls and it’s the opposite when losing you can’t get a break. The special teams had a lot to do with the losing early this season, that PK was giving up 2 or 3 a night you can’t win like that. |

Nice to see that the bottom 6 got Rutherford's message. |

From the other night.
As far as Petey trade and who would I like to get for him.
NYR Braden Schneider (19th Overall 2020) and would they give up on Kappo Kakko?
Its his 3rd season and hasn't done much (51 career points). But he is big, fast and is still only 20. Having Schneider play with Huggy for years... would be sweet.
And NY always loves a star, so Petey go sell some clothes there.
Rosterhawk me a deal based on them. We will need to add something I'm sure to balance some salary out. - carsonagenic
