I'm very interested to see what happens when they play.....in 11 days. Likely anyone who's been out will be healthy/off protocol, probably including Pulock. Right now I don't see how he can take Bellows out of the lineup, he's playing too well. Wahlstrom should really be on the top line with 27/13 but Palmieri will be back too. I like Parise but he doesn't do much on the scoresheet and I'm starting to lean towards preferring him as an extra forward.
It'd be nice to see:
Lee-Barzal-Wahlstrom
Bellows-Nelson-Beau
Bailey-Pageau-Palmieri
4th line
Parise
Cznarik
Johnston
Pelech-Pulock
Chara-Dobson
Greene-Mayfield
(I really would love to see Salo stay in the lineup, but I don't see that one happening) - eichiefs9
Would love to see that lineup but history tells us it won’t happen. Agree about Parise he has been working hard out there. Have to hope he starts putting some pucks in the net. Also agree with Salo on both counts. Would love to see him stick but he won’t. There is a possibility that Palmieri sits for a bit when he’s ready trotz eluded to that already. Still think there’s a better chance he throws Palmieri back out there though when it comes down to it. |

Beau seems to be rediscovering his game on the right side. Not to say he has to stay there but, if it were up to me, I'd want to keep playing him where he's got confidence for as long as is possible.
Agreed about Palmieri, I didn't forget about Trotz's quote about his playing time not being guaranteed. But I get the feeling that was more to light a fire under his ass than it was to let him know he might sit.
I just don't see who comes out for Bellows. We're in agreement on Parise, who I have no major issue with, but Bellows is producing offense and that's real tough to ignore on a team that can't score much. Parise plays the left side and seems to be the only realistic candidate to get taken out of the lineup. Unless Trotz decides to start sitting Martin again and Zach plays 4LW, which I honestly wouldn't have much of an argument with.
The toughest one for me is Czarnik. I think he's played really well with limited opportunity and I'd love to see him stick around but I just don't see where in the lineup he'd have a permanent spot. He busts his ass every shift. He was the one flying on the forecheck, forcing a turnover, and getting the puck out front to set up Beau's tying goal early in the 3rd on Saturday. |

Yeah the positive that has come out of our situation is some of these kids we wrote off for the most part are starting to perform. Like I said on my last post I doubt very much they’re rewarded for it(right now at least). I look at someone like Bailey and just wonder why? The guy has been visible in a bad way more often then not. Hasn’t been good on both sides of the puck and just has pretty much sucked overall from the onset this season. That’s with a ton of unearned PP time along with ice time overall. He doubled wahlstrom’s ice time over a period of games before Wahlstrom went out.
Palmieri has been arguably better then Bailey when he was in the lineup. I have a hard time with trotz sitting bellows who has been one of our best fwds the last five games or so forget about Wahlstrom when there are underperforming vets that seem to have a real long leash stinking it up. Can’t sit players that score on a team that has a tough time scoring. Not really a debatable concept to me. |

#Isles associate coach Lane Lambert: Still no timetable on D Ryan Pulock returning. As for Barry Trotz, the coach remains absent from team for personal reasons and Lambert said there's no timetable yet for his return.
That doesn't sound good. I didn't even realize Barry wasn't on the bench until I got home from the game Saturday |

If Bellows was playing well but not scoring I'd be more inclined to think he'd eventually be coming out of the lineup when all the forwards are healthy. But he's got 2-2-4pts in his last 3gp and I don't think we can really afford to be putting scoring on the shelf. Plus that PP unit with Barzal and him is starting to look significantly better than anything else that we trotted out there this season. |

Not sure what’s going on with Barry but it’s obviously something that’s a pretty big deal. |

Maybe he is interviewing with other teams since so many of your fellow fans on social media want him gone? |

The guess would be someone in his family is real sick or has died. During post game on Saturday, Lambert's comment was "the team's thoughts and prayers are with Barry right now" |

Amazing what happens when you plug in players that shoot the puck towards the net and stop trying to thread a perfect pass through a newborns butthole. |

Don't want to speculate but that's likely it if he's missing time with "no timetable for his return" |

I talked about Bellows last year that if he could ever figure it out he was a sniper which is why they drafted him in the first place. if he can stay out of Trotz dog house and continue to do all the stuff away from puck .. he will definetely score some goals. Especially if he gets some PP time. Kid broke the record for a US player in goals in the IIHF U20 tournament.
having him on the PP the other night was fun to see.. he was able to keep it in the zone 3 times before they scored.

Don't see us in our current situation adding older guys on expiring contracts.. if our first pick this year is involved in picking up a young talented D-man who is locked up or RFA for a while.. i can see that happening. Other than that if we don't go on an incredible run I would imagine we are selling our expiring contracts for picks and prospects.. not buying.

I don't think it's happening either, but still not thrilled to read that.
The only player (who could realistically be traded, as far as the public knows) I'm willing to offer the first round pick for is Chychrun. |

Funny enough, the 1st round pick we got from OTT (SJS's) for Campoli/Comrie was the one we used to trade up (and then trade up again) to take de Haan in 09 |
