Just watched the highlights, seemed like the defense really killed them. Specifically the first and third pairing. First pair got out worked twice for two goals and then the third pair got out skated a couple of times. |

Who would have thought doing a half arse rebuild and picking in the middle of the first round wouldn’t yield and real star power. - ClaudeFather
They were gifted the # 2 pick in a draft with studs at the top of the board and managed to come away with a zero. Almost impossible to do. Not for the Flyers though.

This. I mean, let your scouts do their jobs.
Reportedly, Flyers scouts wanted to select either Heiskanen or defenseman Cale Makar, who went No. 4 overall to Colorado, but then-general manager Ron Hextall opted for Patrick. Makar has become a candidate for this year's Norris Trophy, awarded to the league's best defenseman.

Glad I didn't watch!! Guess Giroux is everyone's hero cause he had a half decent game. He is a third line center at best on most teams these days, but on this sad sack team he ranks as the best with coots hurt. Talk about no depth. It's painful watching Hayes skate....talk about a turtle on skates. Four more years of this crap from him!! Joy to the world!! - Phillywhiteout
Well I guess because you said it, it must be true. You saw that Giroux was first line center last night, which gave you fuel not to watch but Giroux has been our first line center the last three games. So explain if you watched the two games prior to last night. |

That draft is the perfect example as to why this franchise is where it is. Can't get out of their own way.

I’m so sick of the hindsight argument of the second overall pick. Everyone here wanted Nolan Patrick. Everyone. Anyone who says they didn’t is lying. We wanted Patrick so much so, most of us were praying that Nico Hischier went to the Devils first. This constant hanging on to what happened four years ago is so sad considering many in here would have done the same thing. |

It was a franchise altering moment, it’s going to be talked about. |

I was begging for the Devils to take Patrick cause he already had an injury history and wasn't known as the fastest of skaters! Begging I say!!! I've been begging for the Flyers to add more speed to their lineup for years, but nahhhhhhh! Slow and steady wins nothing. |

So they haven’t been returning your emails of begging and pleading? I wish I could take you serious but you don’t watch the games…you just complain about them. |

Really sucks cause used to love watching those west coast games during the Holidays. I have watched some other games on NHL network though and I can say with confidence that the Flyers probably have a better than 50/50 chance of finishing at the bottom of their division. The Isles appear to be waking up and the Devils will most likely zoom right by them now that they're getting healthy. Thanks! |

Dude, I don’t care about the holiday party you drank at last night or that you chose to stop watching games. I didn’t ask for all this personal information you keep offering. What I am saying is, if you are going to say ridiculous things like Giroux can’t play center, stat something like, who should be playing center instead. Stat something that actually offers something to the conversation. It’s not a matter of me thinking you’re wrong, you just are wrong because G has been very good playing center. |

That's so deep and personal!! Earth to whoever you are....Giroux hasn't played center for the Flyers in quite sometime until it recently became necessary. There is a reason for that. He's better served on the wing at this stage of his career. I'm not sure he's ever been a true #1 center in the NHL. He just isn't physical enough! This is why he disappears come playoff time. His only success in the playoffs came in 2010 when he was the third line center and in the 2012 series against the Pens when the Pens just decided to out score the Flyers and play no defense. Thanks again! |

Giroux has split time between wing and center for a number of seasons now. So once again, you’d be wrong. |

Why would you want to play York over Seeler Yandel or Connunton?
