guess you don't play sports any more
- 2Real

I was always too uncoordinated to play serious sports. Played football in high school in the OL. That's about it.

Nowadays hoops. When the ball is in my hands, I back in sticking my butt out like Sir Charles. Many times, people on the rec centers/playgrounds are kids. So, I can back in all the way to the net.

If we lose possession I look the other way and largely stay where I am.

So there.

90°, a cold drink, a good book, and a comfy beech chair in the shade is my idea of a good time. If it's hot you sweat. If it's cold you freeze.

No, not this.

You don't freeze in winter, unless you are naked. And on the beach there is a breeze and bikinis. That's not true in day to day life in the city.

Hot summer makes you feel sluggish. Sweaty summers you have to change clothes after you go out.

Wanna read a book? Fire up the fireplace, pour yourself a stiff one, and settle down on a nice comfy chair.

For me it’s just another normal day…lol. You just have to find winter activities besides playing hockey when you get older…I sled up at the cottage just north of Ottawa, that gets me outdoors. I shovelled off the lake for the kids last week for some outdoor skating. You just have to dress for the cold…I don’t find it quite the novelty you do…I’d rather the sun in Florida any day.

I personally love the winter, its makes the landscapes so beautiful, plus it toughens you up and makes you appreciate the summer a lot more. I don't skate or play hockey like I used to anymore, but the river near our house is frozen now, finally, so I'll be skating with the kids and showing them once again how to pass and shoot a puck, and have a little fun. Now that I'm over 50 I find myself feeling cold a lot more, but I still appreciate the seasons, though I think I am ready for Hilton Head or someplace like that.

No serious sports is played in 90F!

You have been in Cali too long. I refuse to call beach volleyball a serious sport.

On New Year's day I had the fire roaring and a nice 2 inch neat pour of bourbon, that was a slice of heaven for me.

His most recent injuries were a shattered knuckle and a concussion from being elbowed in the head by Corey Perry. Anyone who think this lower body issue should have been predicted in advance, are being childish and absurd.
- Feanor

This is a new one….I thought they said early on he had never had this issue before which was one of the issues with timing the injury…

My hard drink of choice is an Armagnac or a Laphroaig. But I can't really drink much anymore because of health reasons.

Who will play more games this year? Ryan Ellis or Ben Simmons?

Because they're not a cap team, and couldn't afford Ellis and Ekholm both making $6.25m.
- Feanor

didn't they also have to clear cap space with the weber contract lingering

Correct, Ellis had not missed games because of the issue he has now. I really can't help but wonder if the Flyers medical staff is really up to it, because this can't be all chalked up to bad luck, can it?

In 2020, you mentioned that you were under 50. A few months ago, you fondly reminisced about spring break in 1985 in Florida.

I think you are a Russian agent from Montreal. Your code name is Putin's Poutine.

PS: Age is variable. I'll leave that on you to suss out how that works. (But it really helps to have someone be able to fudge your birth date on your IDs, as anyone in the WITSEC will tell you.)

A bottle of Basil Hayden lasts me about a year. I'm not a big drinker either but crave a pour now and then.

Easy fella…just because you visit Montreal…in the winter and romanticize about it…it’s (frank)in cold here from November till April. I like he 4 seasons…but would be fine with a month of winter…I do like the wood stove at the cottage but come April I’ll be ready for summer and golf season…after a what I hope is a short spring..

More power to you. Not quite sure what's in it for you, but I am always appreciative of anything out of the ordinary.

Lavenduh Pundah was well executed.

I understand. I am not sure how I would feel about unrelenting severe winter, month after month.

My favorite weather is 50F (10 C). That's about optimal for me.

What do you chalk Giroux never getting injured in his career up to?

Tremendous reflexes. I have seen Roo duck out of a hit/a stick/a puck 100 times in my viewing.

No seriously.

I have a high threshold for cold. And hot weather makes me bloody irritable.

I never wear a sweater. If it is in the twenties (like today), I wear a shirt/tshirt and a winter jacket, but I don't button up. If it in the teens, I button up. Never gloves or scarf. After my hair started falling, a reluctant hat, usually stuffed into sidepocket after 30 mins of walking.

Often, I am the sole person sitting outside a restaurant in their outdoor sitting area.

Many years, my wife and I would go to Montreal over winter break. That's serious cold. Some less than zero F. Then I would need to wear specialized winter garb..

Y’all are nuts! I like my FL winters, 60-75 days and 45-60 nights. Enjoy your snow and ice.
