The 4 points I provided were my opinion it goes without saying, but if you have paid even cursory attention to the course of the pandemic, that opinion is pretty uncontroversial.

As for your intellect: Based on the little I have observed in your specific case, I think it is way more than adequate to comprehend and understand the basic issues. Sadly, this makes your culpability worse. The chip you carry on your shoulder has become in effect, a cognitive bias which clouds reality.

Ah .. but this is different stat. xGF% compares xGF and xGA, so this tells you that defensively the Rangers are not that good. But we knew that already. In the playoffs this will kill them if they don't tighten it up. What I was referring to is just comparing offense, what you score versus what you are expected to score, because I think that tells you about the skill level on your team. The Rangers have elite talent up front, there is no denying that.

Scientifically uncontroversial.

The reservoir of un-vaccinated (by choice or lack thereof) will imply that the virus always lurks and mutates in a large base of people. Over time, new mutations will arise, vaccinations will lag, hospitals will be swamped. Since we don't just let people die, the need for lockdowns will be recurrent though arguably less and less frequent I hope.

In Singapore, they call them "circuit breakers". When test positivity rises above a threshhold, they shut it down. It seems a pretty reasonable projection.

A variant emerged which is super, super infectious. Up there with measles and whooping cough. At the time it came, essentially all restrictions had been removed everywhere. It has spread fastest in states where it is cold, and where population density is high.

I don't fully understand what exactly it is that you are objecting to. Your fight seems to be against biology and human history (which tells us how human beings have fought past pandemics) and common sense.

You missed the big one. Hospitalization’s. That’s the concerning number. Our numbers are climbing already to capacity. That limits hospitals to help other non Covid emergencies. The inability to help people that need it is scary. As a province we are at 92 % vax. Even if the % of people dying is dropping, the number of fully faxed people being hospitalized is rising beyond belief. Im just sick of the whole (frank)ing thing. Everything here shut down again today…back to the levels seen at the worst of it.

Hospitalizations will continue to rise, of course. Omicron is twice as infectious as delta, and half as severe (needing hospitalization). That means that after 6 days (or whatever unit of interaction you use), you will have 10X times the hospitalizations from omicron that you do from delta.

London is the test case, what all of the western world is watching. Some of the data is reassuring. There is a picture at the top of this feed.
