You know who currently owns that NHL record? Martin Brodeur; certainly a terrible goalie.

Look at the other names in the top-15: Luongo, Roy, Belfour, Vanbiesbrouck, Sawchuk...not bad company.

Also, he's currently ranked 34th, but will soon be passed by Quick, Smith, and Anderson. He's 140 losses away from tying Brodeur. He averages 20 losses a season (I didn't include his 15/16 season when he only played 12 games). So he'd need to play 7 more seasons, not including this one, as the primary goalie to reach the mark at that pace. Seeing as he hasn't played at all this season, that's unlikely to happen.

You don't have to like Price, and his cap hit is absurd...but saying he's "by all important metrics, been one of the worst goaltenders in NHL history" is just being petty.

He's so overrated. He had a great playoff last year and in 2015. The rest of the playoffs, he was pretty below average and fell short of expectations.

Career playoff SV% of .919 and GAA of 2.39. Better than players like Belfour, Roy (even excluding the 80s), Lundqvist, and Luongo.

I'd say he's overpaid, not overrated.
