I see.
Sometimes I feel that in sports it is better to be wildly turbulent, and have huge ups and downs, rather than stay the course and be solidly good.
Good leads to great less often than bad leads to great. - PT21
But the Lightning never really tanked. They tried to remain good (signing dudes like Recchi and Gary Roberts, re-upping Boyle long term, etc), but they were so inept at team building that they ended up with a couple of high picks in exactly the right years.
Otherwise they were doing exactly what the Flyers have been doing: trying but failing.

I read in this blog prior to the season starting about the Penguins downfall. Yeah, I guess that isn't happening. - PLindbergh31
Pens leadership and then coach have done a good job of finding talent that blends well with Crosby and how they play. Hextall has not been there long enough to take credit for it.
If the Pens don't get out of the first round they will be no better than the last few seasons and no closer to winning their next cup. They are playing the best hockey I have seen them play in years.

So you're saying the Flyers are on track to bumble their way into building a good team?
All I was saying was it looked really good and now it has faltered a bit. We knew we gave up a good player but still waiting on these two guys, one might never get it together. If we keep him we also probably never sign Hayes. Just says more about the direction of the Flyers and the failure that past decade has been. - ClaudeFather
Where the Flyers are now, they're better off with Farabee and Frost than with Schenn.

Those Flyers fans who both believe in the conspiracy that the NHL is against the team, and that the Flyers must tank in order to build their next Stanley Cup winning team, are now seriously conflicted.
I guess I haven't been paying attention and living under a rock but the game is not on TV? The NHL must have rocks in their heads. Flyers-Pens not on TV in Philly? Beyond stupid.

ESPN+ baby. Fork over the good ole' hard earned cash. I think ESPN+ is 4.99 a month and is where most/all of the games are on. Cause the only games I see are at 10 on TNT.

Should be still able to see it via the free streaming sites. Not sure if a VPN (or some other IP masking) is necessary for those living in market (I don't).

Are you saying that in Philly you can’t watch the game unless you have ESPN+?
