Some changes will Be made ie trade of g and rr likely. Ufa s not re signed.

Management will likely say they haven’t been able to evaluate the team properly and make limited changes. I can’t see them going for a tank and 5 to 7 year rebuild.

Do you honestly believe that if they do those moves that they'll sit on that cap space? Most likely, they'll delve into free agency and try to pay a boat load to someone like Johnny Gaudreau.

Yeah. This isn’t a productive conversation on a hockey site. People are entrenched in their views on this and won’t be swayed. We’re basically back into lockdown in Canada here with worries the health care system will get overwhelmed and it’s getting very close that spot.

The GM is loving this as it will likely save him for being canned. More excuses.

Hopefully there is a betting line posted at some point.

Would you trade Ivan and/or Sanheim?

That’s possible. But I don’t see the tank and 5 year rebuild with the guaranteed drafting of a generational player coming that a lot are clamouring for.

There is no such thing as a guarantee of drafting a generational player.

.. and you picked up on my sarcasm. Further, even if you draft one it doesn’t guarantee success.

Can’t wait to see the new top pairing of Yandle and Risto in action. It will be comedy gold.

Well as you know there are a lot of coaches, general managers, scouts and doctors using these sites. We really should listen to flyershockeydoctor48. He really knows what he’s talking about.

York-Braun would probably be the top pair. York had 20 minutes against the Ducks, while KY slid around for only 14 and change.

But if the Flyers get a few more positive cases today, there won't be a game.

It’s a write off decade at this point with no end in site. Comcast needs to either clean house from top to bottom or sell the damn team to someone who will actually give a crap about the on ice product.

In my opinion, it's a guarantee that changes will be made. It's just a question of if they go in the right direction. My guess is they won't.

Yes. I guess that’s possible and they wouldn’t be able to ice a full team. It’s probably the best case scenario.

I don't exercise blind foolish faith. What reason is there to trust Fletcher? However, it's more about upper management than Fletcher

I trust Cuck Fletcher’s ability to build a quality NHL team less than:

A cocktail made by Bill Cosby
Gas station sushi
A daycare run by Casey Anthony
A politician’s promises
Investment advice from Bernie Madoff

But the Flyers, as is every other NHL team, are all 100% vaccinated with all 3 shots according to Chuck Fletcher. How is it possible then that the players are contracting Covid and then spreading it throughout the locker room? And again I ask, how many players does a team have to be down before the game is postponed? What is the policy? Why were games postponed last week but not this week?
- jd250

That's not correct.

They are close to 100% vaxed but there is no booster policy for the NHL, I am pretty sure. Fletch said "a good number of Flyers" are boosted. That's pretty ambiguous.

If you are just vaxed but not boosted, your protection from omicron infection is not very good at all. However, severe diseases protection is pretty high (70%) and death even more so.

If you are vaxed and boosted otoh, protection rises to 75% odd, and severe disease protection to 90%+.

The 75% boosted protection may seem low, because 25% chance of getting the disease is quite high. But this is far higher than say the Flu vaccine, which only gives 50% protection, and that too, only for a year.

There is a never a guarantee! That is the gamble with building through the draft, a lot of luck is involved. Consider the Rangers have drafted Lafrenière, Kakko and Kravtsov and none of them are really contributing yet and may never be what they were hoped to be. The Flyers drafted Patrick at number 2 and we all saw what happened with that. But drafting high gives a team the best chance of finding a generational player or at least a valuable building block. I also believe the players the Flyers can build around are a good, not great, group and with smart moves and a little luck with picks, the Flyers can be back sooner than 5 years. Let's face it, the Flyers have had awful luck with their picks and prospects over the past several years. Their luck has got to change eventually.

Why not York and Risto as your top pair, I think they would compliment each other well.

Asking York to carry Risto and his turnip like hockey sense at this stage of the kids career is asking too much
