Health wise he’ll be 100%. No chance in hell he will be in game shape. That’ll probably take a month or so and the anti-Malkin crowd will be insufferable. - Victoro311
They are already making excuses and saying the Pens should trade him instead because he isn't needed. |

I think he'll round into shape quicker than he did last year coming off of rehab. |

Pens are gonna have to lose at some point. It’s only a matter of time but it will be funny if it’s on geno’s first game back. |

No, they are winning the rest of the way. Anything else would be failure. |

Malkins going to be a poop show for at least a month. Giving a guy 2nd line minutes so he can have a month long training camp is ridiculous. I’d play him on the 4th line and make him earn it. If he doesn’t like it he can sign elsewhere next year. |

The insufferable part will be you guys saying poop like “Malkins not looking good, but what do you do”? |

Pens are currently only 6 points out of 1st in the league....with 3 games in hand. Unreal. Lets not forget how many points they banked in October/November a lot of nights with their whole 1st PP missing and 3 of their top 4 D out. Some nights 6 to 8 regulars out. They do indeed have to lose sometime and that could very well be Geno's first game...Sammy will be the first to post Geno slander... |

The one labeled non biased logical lineup decisions. Not the bleeding heart Malkin fan one. |

Well what you dont do is trade him or not re sign him in offseason as you continue to suggest if he has a hard time getting up to speed...which he most likely will. I do kinda agree with you in maybe limiting the ice time a little at first. Bottom 6 and 1st PP unit for the first little while is fine with me. Obviously if he's machino out the gate you're not going to keep limiting it but the chances of that are slim given all the experience we have with him returning after long layoffs. Never know though, he could be dynamite out the gate...or the team around him is playing so well its masks his play better this time.

Not rearranging a 10 game winning streak lineup to fit a once superstar into his old role after coming off a long knee surgery layoff is logical. |

Carter shouldn’t be inserted into the lineup at all based on this “logic” |

The Penguins won a cup while missing Letang and using Ron Hainsey as a top pairing D.
Clearly, the Penguins don't need Letang to win. Should trade him now. |

Yup, gotta keep Carter out for the sake of the winning streak. Can't change the lineup now. |

In its entirety this is moronic but I would ease him in a bit. Start him at 4th line centre for a game or so with pp minutes. Bump him up to 2nd line LW with carter and let him swap over to centre when his conditioning catches up to him. |

You’re right. Zucker-Geno-Kapanen 20 minutes 2nd line as soon as Malkins ready to play. |

I still don’t get trading a guy that can at the very least handle the nhl physically and skating wise for a guy that flat out can’t play in the nhl. |
