They do. I'm hearing dissension there on the process. From a good source. Smith and Koskinen are getting paid so are starting but really Skinner looked good for 2-3 games and why Tippett didn't roll with him was confusing. Smith coming back off injury actually didn't help matters his game clearly looks off. No time to panic.

And they going to trust their jobs on a broken down 40 year old starter, Koskinen, or a rookie starter? Especially when both the GM and coach don't believe in playing rookies. I don't see them not doing something soon to get some help in there, but without cap space. The only way to for them to trade for help is hope someone takes salary. Then you are paying a premium for that as well as the goalie mid season throwing the Oil a lifeline premium. |

I’m good Marky was not available to play. No message being sent by Sutter. Everything is kosher between the 2.
You’re right though this feeling is something I’m not used to, never been an Oiler fan and gone through this. |

Good points of course. Holland should have moved on from Smith in the off season but like you said cap space was at a premium. It was a gamble. Didn't pay off with Smith's injury they banked very much he would be as good as last year and Smith was good last season...can't fault him for that. Injuries hit every club at some point the only good thing here is they are slumping now and not 4 weeks before the end of season. Lot's of time to right the ship. |

For sure. Nucks fans aren't used to the feeling either of a 16 year rebuild like the Flames have been circling the drain for a decade and a half. Canucks have only been in shambles since 2012 when we should have traded Kesler for assets lol
Oilers have been rebuilding since 2007 so it's a great battle of Alberta there |

The Oilers had over 30 Million in cap space at the end of last year and did nothing about their goaltending. Rolling the dice on Smith and Koskinen was sheer lunacy. Lots of fault on Holland for that. |

I would agree with that. But Holland has gone through diversity before. I think he can get out of it. One wonder what Chiarelli would have done lol

Only a Benning fanboy would say that! Can't blame the GM for the team he put together. |

Like I said earlier, with no cap space, it will cost them one of their good d prospects, probably Broberg, or their 1st rounder. They are in a real tough spot of their own making. Based on point pct. they are not in the playoffs at the moment. Trading a 1st or prospects will kill the team cap wise going forward, or kill the regime for sure if they miss the playoffs.
Time to feast on Holland's mistakes |

That's the thing. The days of Oiler fan blaming Chia are over. His picks are playing and his mistakes outside of Koskinen are gone. This is all on Holland now. |

It’s pretty easy to dismiss the value of shutouts when your team has none.
Koskinin, Smith, Skinner all sporting the goose egg.
I believe the Flames started the rebuild with the trade of Iginla and Kipper.
You forgot to mention that the Oilers have had 4 1st overall picks in their rebuild and still look no better than when they started. Condors are crap, not a lot of young talent to look forward to. The Country Club Management system isn’t working and until they do a reset don’t expect different results. But you keep up the rah rah schitch, look good on you.

I liked Benning's drafting, and the Miller trade worked out great. At least after the dumpster fire of contracts and garbage trades he made, he did a decent job of pissing it out with the OEL / Garland for Hot flaming Trash. |

OJ & JV were mistakes, you move on. JB always overpaid in the UFA market. Thank f*ck Rutherford came out and said he's not trading high draft picks. At the end of the day JB & TG were in WAY over their heads.
