These slow starts (four shots on goal, two over the final 18 minutes of the first period) cost Jeremy Colliton his job. They will likely cost Derek King the chance to stick with the team beyond this season, despite that the talent void is as culpable as anyone behind the bench.

They pretty much said right from the start King was just finishing out the season and then returning to Rockfish

Makes no sense to me that Kane can still complete those beautiful passes, yet cannot hit the net. Maybe you ex- or current players could explain how an injury would affect one and not the other.

Confidence. He has admitted more than once he fighting his shooting. He is trying to be perfect with every shot and think he has to in order to score.

He needs a couple of ass goals to jump start him.

Never underestimate how dumb these other GMs are.

I know many don't want to hear it but Strome is starting to look like a hockey player, he's got to learn to be a pro and bring it every night though

Great for 29, but damn do the Hawks struggle to generate anything consistently offensively. Tough to watch, but I will being a fan.

Feel like we were lucky to have him on the team, if only for a year...good room guy, good guy in general

Confidence for the younger players, bare minimum, I guess. I'll take good showings from players too for good returns as well. Just don't like losing streaks for the team I root for.

Only took 6 years , multiple benchings and 230 games. We have seen this before. Can he continue? Or will he disappear sometime in the next couple of games as been his pattern.

It's, IMO, what separates the winners from losers and long-timers from the flashes-in-the-pan. Yes, otherworldly skill helps, but when in crunch time, I want the character / mentally tough player every time.

He also clearly worked on (or remembered how to win) face-offs. Still not a speedster, but at least he thinks the game as fast as Kane and DBC and that's half the battle playing with those two.
