Do you try Dahlin at RD again first? Maybe the difference-making RD is already here. Maybe Power and Dahlin are like bread and butter, biscuits and gravy, Starsky and Hutch 🤣 - Powerslave
Mmmmm biscuits and gravy
with scrambled eggs and bacon
- Kings say yes and quickly
- Ducks say no quickly
- No idea what Detroit would say, but I'm guessing no
- Devils say no quickly
- Toronto likely says no but listens
- Canucks say no quickly
So the only yes is a top end pick who hasn't had a great beginning to his pro career overall.
I doubt the Sabres are getting comparable value in a Dahlin trade, and certainly not value that would make it feel like the Sabres sold high, unless they think he's barely a 2nd pair defenseman. If they truly think that, then the trade they'd make would look like they're actually selling low, not high, as they're banking on him turning out to be nothing much. - kingcong39
Agree with you, it feels a lot more like they'd be selling low.
I'd take all of next season before I would even consider anything.

Totally agree about wanting to see all of next season.
I want to see Dahlin and Power together on the power play and I'd like to see how they play with both of them on the roster, with a roster that has more overall talent.

You build around a strong, young defense, so there doesn’t seem to be a need to move him of all players on the Sabres roster. Keep Dahlin, add Power soon enough, and trade off anyone else to keep building a solid blue line. Honestly, what would you be looking for in return? Forwards are easier to come by than quality defensemen. Might as well keep him.
No, he’s not Makar, but so what? Only Makar is Makar. He’s still a player I’d want on my team.
Just putting this out there with my kid going to school next year gonna have a extra season ticket Sect. 332 row 6 first 4 seats. Tunnel side 10yrd line. Give me a shout after the season.
Kids 21 years old, has played on historically bad teams his entire career, surrounded by inept coaches, but he’s a bust. He’s not tearing up the league, but IMO a huge mistake to trade him we’d regret it a few years I’d think.

I would agree that Toronto would listen but to get Marner the deal would be multiple players from each side. A blockbuster. After another failed playoff the Leafs would offer Marner, Campbell and a prospect for Dahlin, Cozens and a pick.

Pettersson is on pace for the same season Mitts had last year (PPG wise) while playing 3 more minutes a night. Just saying
