We haven’t even played half of this year yet.
And we are losing our minds about what is going to happen next year.
I’m out for today. - Pegullaville
I’m losing my mind at the idea that trying to compete next year has already been ruled out by lots of people.
It’s crazy to me |

As soon as you stop exaggerating trading one first round pick and jizzing in your pants about Tim Murray.
It depends what kind of horse I’m behind sometimes one, sometimes two.
Add- see post above yours for expected Dahlin return someone just posted, 1st and 2nd for Dahlin and a pick. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ - ImThatGuy
You are incorrect about me constantly pissing on Murray and trading 1 1st round pick.
You must have me confused. Whatever.
I would surely consider trading one of the 1st, I just don't think the return one would get out weighs the potential value of hitting...say like on A Johnson who sure looks to be a NHLer in a year or two.
Trade proposals on here, including those by me are usually unrealistic, it is what it is...a hockey rumors board. We are 't NHL GMs therefore our valuations run a wide range.
My gripe isn't so much trading away picks for NHLers, it is the particular players floated. Most recently, Chickboy is a good player, but I believe the assets used to acquire a 3rd high-level LhD could be better spent on a player like Theodore...at a position of need versus on of strength.
Maks smart moves has been my mantra...not just moves for any good player.

You literally made this your very next post after declaring how far you've come from being a confrontational poster. lol
You haven't - joevthree
Good catch,
I'm trying...Work in progress.
I had to laugh at myself after posting it...I faltered but decided to leave it rather than delete it.
I'll face the music.

Is the tank talk ever gonna end? 2023? 2024? 2025? What year?
it’s getting kinda ridiculous
There’s people on here talking about tanking next year already.
Like actually adding good players and trying to win hockey games isn’t even a thought
It’s absolutely bonkers - sbroads24
There are extremes for sure, as is with everything.
I want a high draft pick this year for sure. I have a hard time believing next season will be a tank, rather it will have growing pains with 5 or so youngins added in.
Will Adams purposely stay on the sidelines as a strategy to remain on the low end? Maybe.
Rather, I'm advocating for next offseason to make a couple smart moves..a trade or 2, an FA signing ...injecting say 8 players would n Oi t be a tank move, right?
I certainly wouldn't be trading next years 1st though either as they continue to need to fill the pipeline, IMO

It’s not even that I say trade one first and one second round pick for an established top six player or top four dman and the typical responses “so you want to Tim Murray this thing” - ImThatGuy
Sometimes impatience gets in the way of logic.

We have infinity cap space, holes all over the roster, but John Klingberg is 29 and we’re not trying to win games until half of Florida is underwater so that’s a no.
I honestly have never cared less about a draft pick then I do this year. I don’t care who we pick. They will be 18. It will take 3-4 years for them to be in their prime making a difference.
Go. Get. Good. Players. - sbroads24
Any good players?
Or players that fit the plan?
Aaron Rodgers is pretty good, should the Bill's get him this offseason?... or maybe look for investing those resources in areas of need.
To me, Chickboy was closer to that than not. |

Issue with that analogy is outside of may be Dahlin the Sabres have a bunch of Ryan Tannehill Jared Goff Matt Stafford type players. Wild good you should not be opposed to upgrading any position |

Well the Bills win games so I’m not sure that comparison works.
Whatever good players make this team competitive works for me.

The issue is then they say they want a name of a person but then you give that name in the teardown of that player begins on how he’s not worth it and you’re gonna have to give up a jack Eichel return for him |

No. We're still not selling high on him if we traded now. He only has dominant "moments" right now, though they are getting more frequent. If he becomes a 20 goal, 50 assist defenseman and only gets walked 4 times a year then you'd get top dollar. |

Is anyone ruling out out? I think there is a big difference between "ruling it out" and being scared to death of Murraying the whole thing. I think people that fall into the latter are really ok if we aren't markedly better next year.

The Eichel trade is so hilariously bad that if we could land a top line center that’s half as good as Eichel for that package they better jump on it |

Depends on if he wants to be here, Gerbe informed us the organization offered a long term deal and he shut it down…Adams should be taking calls. |

Except we play better without him, and Vegas has yet to see one point from Jack. Do they still have coke in Vegas? I hope Jack doesn't find out. |

The point is better, and we've only seen three combined games from the Jack return as of yet. |

Vegas got the best player by far.
He’s going to be amazing for them. There is no questions about it.
But cool dig about the drugs…..
Was it you that said Eichel was drug rehabbing in Colorado which turned out to be amazingly false. |

No No it certainly wasn't but there is way too much smoke about Jack's Coke habits for me to believe there isn't some fire.
And let's wait for Jack to score a single point before we decide who won the trade. Jack is an injury prone player who now has a broken neck, But go ahead and put him in the hall of fame for having 80 point seasons. Derek Roy is looking for his jacket too. |

If josh allen switches to tight end, rodgers would be perfect.
I think the ability to play both positions on defense sticks in my mind. Has dahlin be better on the left side, can he improve/ switch with power or chicken Run as his partner?
That's what hockey rumor chat boards are about |

I'm hearing any good player then.
I don't believe you mean that though. I think, push comes to shove you would align to make smart moves. Rather than moves period.
I like what Adam's is doing alot. I gave him a mulligan for the poop show year 1. Once he convinced the Pegulas to dump Ralph, it has been pretty impressive. I like the build with purpose strategy rather than willy nilly we saw from previous regimes.
His strategy seems to include considerations of financial impact, skill level, analytics and intangibles. I think he is right. |

By what measure?
This is a results based industry. The Sabres get awful results
I think he’s done well adding to the FO. That’s pretty much the only thing they’ve done that can be called impressive IMO |
