The Eichel trade is so hilariously bad that if we could land a top line center that’s half as good as Eichel for that package they better jump on it - sbroads24
The Eichel trade only works if you continue to suck this year AND next year for another top 5 pick.
You trade those assets we acquired for Eichel for a worse player, like many on here do to “speed things up” Adams just becomes a combination of Murray and Botts in one. |

By what measure?
This is a results based industry. The Sabres get awful results
I think he’s done well adding to the FO. That’s pretty much the only thing they’ve done that can be called impressive IMO - sbroads24
FO for sure, which is a ton...especially the continued built-out of the Analtics dept)
Quinn (Based the selection on him driving play, intangibles)
JJP (fell or not, several other teams could have had him)
Power ( many wanted one of the F's)
Levi (landed in Sam trade, that alone could be a HR)
Risto Trade (addition by subtraction,
Eichel Trade (given conditions of injured player, medical team not budging on restriction, disgruntled player made it well known he's gone)
Love it

Mittelstadt + one of the late firsts + Jacob Bryson probably lands you a nice player and it is so far from being Tim Murray
Before we landed Eichel, Murray traded away
Armia
Lemieux
Stafford
Myers
1st rounder
2nd rounder
2nd rounder
Brayden McNabb
We already have two #1 overall picks in the system, and are about to pick top 5 again.
There’s absolutely no reason to purposely suck next year |

Keep drafting and if players come available that fit are needs RD, 1A-B goalie try to acquire. We still don't know how good Cozens or Krebs can be because they haven't played hockey with the real linemates yet. Keep building through the draft, hopefully you hit, but keep building the foundation. |

Colts doing a hell of a job running the ball today.
They are stopping the run though.
But Lawrence has 2 TDs which is 20% of his season total. |

I'd make a trade like the above, of course depending on: who the player is, contract staus, age,
Position of need (i.e. - not LhD, not 2C nor 3C)
What position are you targeting to upgrade? |

I’m losing my mind at the idea that trying to compete next year has already been ruled out by lots of people.
It’s crazy to me - sbroads24
zero reason not to try to ice a fringe playoff team in the fall |

Not to mention Marcus Foligno who would probably be captain this season if he were still here.
And I agree. Not saying they should win the division next season but there's no reason whatsoever that they shouldn't be in the thick or the playoff race. |

How are the results rated from since Krugastank was canned? They’re still in the early phases of the next new Sabres, even though your clock as a fan is at 11 years of this “rebuilding”. Idk what else you can do but accept, if not appreciate, that they seem to be aiming to grow a sustainably competitive organization/ team, not just an instant gratification 1 or 2 year flash in the pan. As long as they take steps to improve for next year and keep building from there, they should be a fun team to watch and root for as they work their way upwards. |

They are
I like what Adams is doing for the most part, but until it bears fruit in the win column I can’t sit here and say he’s a good GM or he’s been impressive |

Aaron Rodgers watching from the sideline as his defence gives up 34 to Jared Goff and the Lions thinking about what the main stream media is going to write about them when they lose another NFC Championship game because of them |
