Many Players holding out on contracts start slow. I think he's still fighting something the wrist perhaps or another nagging injury. Time and patience.

Ban for life is an over reaction. His conduct flaunting the covid rules is another matter. This isn’t the NFL who suck ballz of stars all in the name of the greenback. Ppl don’t have to like the rules it isn’t a matter of opinion. Kane deserves an investigation into his conduct. He has further created legal issues outside of hockey with his stupidity imo.

Give him a 40 game suspension if he broke the rules . No one will argue or care too much but ban for life is ridiculous.

It is no longer a slow start we are halfway through the year. I think they will see how the next half goes and then decide but again it is no longer a slow start. I imagine at some point he will have a good run for a bit but you do have to be open minded to where his value is and how long you let him drag you down.

Which is why I still think he has nagging injuries. Even Horvat goes 15-20 games without a point. I think he'll get there just needs the right push and confidence level. Boudreau is patient enough to bring him back.

Aidan McDonough is top three for Hobey Baker award. I know Gaudette won it so who cares but still good on him for having his moment of recognition .

Time will tell .

I think the Canucks are a few good pieces from being a good team so they have time to see who fits and who doesn't .

For the record I was one of those fans this summer hoping Montreal offer sheeted him and we got four firsts.

I’ll have to give in to asking why patience will fix Petey. Pointless when there is nothing in his game that is elite at this time. I’ve tried to be positive but there is nothing I can find to be so. Hope I’m wrong & he figures it out but even I cannot find optimism at this time. The eye test is condemning & he has to find it within himself. It’s not for other players to carry him.

I’ll go as far as saying if he wasn’t in the line up the team wouldn’t suffer. All it would show is our depth is as poor like JR has said.

Summary: start shopping him for assets needed. No good offers then ride it out. NYI Ottawa Habs are a few teams I’d call.

Why does a coach have to push a 7m player? Petey doesn’t push himself.

Confidence is a BS word & applied too often. Petey is a head case & those types if you ever played any sport with one are a problem. Head cases are either self motivated or full of themselves.

Allen Iverson comes to mind.
Evander Kane.

Self driven & motivated. Character

How it translates into an NHL career is yet to be seen but it bodes well. Many talented players have failed over the years & many have been so called diamonds in the rough for thus very reason.

Theoren Fleury cones to mind.

Oh FFS let the kid play f*ucking Hockey. How did he get across illegally Border Patrol off duty that day? lol

He isn't being banned from playing hockey. He's being banned from getting paid to do so while the league assesses his actions within it's rules. He's the one that filed the grievance and set the investigation in motion. So now he has to adhere to the process. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

I mean, it makes my skin crawl to agree with you, but Carol did post this quote in her blog, which you would assume everyone reads before commenting…

“I did an extra skate after the practice today, so hopefully my legs will feel good," he said. "We’re very excited. Seattle (Jan. 1 game) was a long time ago and it's a good feeling in the group."

I see media members regularly talking about the extra work Pettersson does before/after practice.

No assumptions. What has he improved on?

Bo improved his skating.
Hughes worked on his D.
Miller excelled given the opportunity.
Boeser augments his game.

I’ll reserve further comments til I hear from Petey what he works on in the offseasons. Last thing I heard was years ago it was his one timer he rarely does as often now.

That’s a GM who is desparate to fix a team he hasn’t done well at.
Hyman was a good add. Keith 😂

Great he works on his one timer after practice. What was he doing in the off-season? Why doesn’t he hustle during games? Why does he pout every shift and lose every board battle? He has shown zero signs of improving under Bruce, if anything he is getting worse

Hey he plays the net front on the power play which is a great spot for a 150 lb super star.

2nd? You must've went to the same school as K-man.

I just hope for the sake of his child that he gets his life pointed in the right direction sometime soon.
