To be fair, the Wings were projected to be in the bottom 5 in the league, and instead are a play-off bubble team. They only have 3 D-men and 6 forwards and maybe 1 goalie that would be on a contending team....and that may be rather generous. I would think that coaching has something to do with that.

Playoff bubble? They are 3 points back and have played FIVE extra games. That's a huge gap. They have exceeded expectations. But calling them a playoff bubble team is pretty off.

There is no playoff bubble in the East this year. The team with the ninth-best record (Detroit) is on pace for 82 points. The team with the eighth-best record (Boston) is on pace for 103.

OK, Point wise they are not a "bubble team" . Position-wise at #9 in the East, they are just out of the play-offs. I just went by their position. In 9th place in the East they are positionally much better than "bottom five". Which is closer than the THIRTEEN TEAMS BELOW THEM!(League-wise)

Looks like another shut out against wings and not enough shots.

Another very quiet night for Raymond, who is without a doubt 1 of the top 2 rookies in the NHL. I bet he doesn't even get named as a Calder Finalist...Seider, Zegras, Lundell, Jeannot, could be more. Nice player. But some of my fellow Wings fans are a bit unaware...

I watched lasts night game and then the post game interview with Coach Blash, he couldn’t even look into the camera, I’m almost feeling bad for this guy.

The wings will be fine, just growing pains.

A lot of the shots they take are also long range without traffic or really bad angle shots.

Wings still have the same problems as last season.

-They only have 1 scoring line since they don't have a good center to have a good 2nd line.
-The left side of their defense is horrible with DeKeyser, Staal.
-The PP is 2nd to last in the league with only Montreal being worst...yes Arizona and Seattle have a better PP than the Wings.
-PK is 24th in the league.
-They are absolutely horrible on the road. Goalie has to stand on his head for them to even have a chance to win.

Seems like you belittle any draft criticism. Like anyone who believed so and so was drafted "way too high" has been proven wrong. Let's recap.

Many said Bertuzzi was drafted way too high. A great example where those folks, myself included, were proven wrong.

Rasmussen. I called it way too high. His ceiling was 3C at best. At times he's being used on the wing. If you wanted a skilled centreman, Necas and Suzuki were available. So I stand by my initial thought. Poor pick.

You conveniently omit Zadina from the drafted too high section. Imagine having Hughes, Bouchard, Dobson...those were the 3 d-men we all debated.

Seider. Some people thought he was drafted too high. I didn't. After the Rasmussen and Zadina debacles it was clear we needed a d-man. It was him or Broberg.

Raymond is having a nice year. Cheering for the guy. But people act like it was some brilliant pick. If we went with Drysdale I don't think many would be complaining. Jake Sanderson is one of the top prospects not currently in the NHL. Anton Lundell was debated. He's your 2C behind Larkin and only a few points off Raymond's pace, playing the much more difficult position. I could argue Raymond was too high and Lundell might have a bigger impact over time.

But you just imply everyone is wrong and Yzerman did it all right. Ok then.

Raymond with a goal and an assist tonight... but I guess that doesn't mean anything.. because he's so overrated by all us Wings fans on this blog.

I've been watching some Griffins games down at the Van Andel this season... and Jonaton Berggren looks like the real deal as far as prospects go. Definitely the best prospect in GR. That kid has all the tools from what I've seen so far. Great stickhandler... sees the ice really well. Good on the top power play unit. He's definitely going to get a good look and an opportunity to be in Detroit next season. I'm actually more stoked to see Edvinsson play. Hope he's here in GR next season. I agree with Jeremy.. I think he was a great pick by Yzerman.
