Then Buyout Skinner or trade him now. He is the whinniest little female dog on the team. He flops all over the ice all the time and NEVER gets the call (even when warranted) Then screams at the refs instead of busting his ass to get back in the play.

I am so done with that kind of crap.

Skimmer has probably upped his value this season.

Another dead year on the contract and close to a 30 goal pace for the season on a bottom 5 team.

Might be able to trade him away with just 1 first round pick , instead of both Florida and lv.
And keep salary.

I would be ecstatic if Girgs got a first like Coleman. I just don't see it. Coleman scores and much higher rate then Girgs, and his physical style was really playoff material. Girgs plays physical, but not to Coleman's level imo. Guess anything can happen but I wouldn't bank on it.

I can see a GM that needs grit giving up a late first rounder for Girgs. He is the type of player teams look for around playoff time. Way overpayment but I could see it happening.

VO..... He gets you maybe 3rd and a prospect maybe... too one dimensional, basically a guy with a hard shot and those these days are a dime a dozen.

What kind of trade market / value do you see with great28 and goaloffson at the tdl?

Gurgs could be a 2 playoff year guy, paying him very little this season. Similar to Tampa trading for blake coleman a few years ago.

Olo pretty clearly is playing injured. I'm not sure he has any trade deadline value, if that's the case....

You're right that Girgs probably has more value at this point. I think every playoff team would kick tires on him.

Medical and temperament reasons, primarily. Especially with young kids in the house. I support rescues, I support rescuing, my cat (my wife's cat) is a rescue. I hate most cats but ours is really chill.... but dog rescue is just not for me. There's good dogs and damaged dogs at those rescues. And I've heard the good and bad stories. It's a noble cause, but not one I'm willing to pursue for the potential financial and physical detriments that can occur.

Very good post

Unfortunately some adult re-homed dogs have a hidden history.

We tried to do the right thing and adopt a rescue beagle a few years ago. Someone that needed a good home. Found the smelliest dog out there. Our other dog is a bit older and a puppy seamed like a tough choice at the time.

Dog nipped our son on the nose after 6 months. Had to return him to the adoption place. I was devastated.
Felt like I turned my back on him....
Can't be biting my son though....

Fortunately my cousin fosters dogs/ pups and she had a litter a short time later. She found us the best pup ever. 😀
Tough for our 9 year old dog to raise a pit/boxer mix, but she's very tolerant....
Been almost 2 years now, best buddies....

*1st time we've had 2 females.... they are a sweet pair.

he has as many goals as blake wheeler, ek and stastny in the last 3 years , in less games

not sure I would label him as a dime a dozen type guys

When we got our Yellow Lab we wanted a puppy so I could train him right. at that time my kids were younger. I search locally for a rescue but no puppies around.

Got my Lab threw a breeder and he has been the best thing for our family. Protects his family & house without hesitation but is the most chill dog ever. Only thing I would change is he shed's 24/7/365.

I wish I could of saved a rescue dog, but I make no apologies for using a breeder for my Lab. he is perfect for our family....

I'm thinking more like a bjork 2nd type trade.

Great28 and a 4th for a 2nd and 3rd. Probably eat some salary and get (2) 2nds?

Yeah, I'm blinded by fandom 👊

I'd almost say with olo's possible injury, great28 may have more value?

I don't think a couple 2s is out of the question, especially if salary is fully retained. Good defensive player with a little grit. About as little offense as is allowed in an NHL regular. Teams might look at him as well he's playing in Buffalo, what do you expect. So we'll see.

Had a smooth-coat border collie we rescued at age 2. Super smart, super-high energy, great temperament. Sadly she had seizures that got worse and worse...had to put her down this October at age 6.

Our previous rescue, a shepard-mutt (Polish shepard, I called him) had seizures once a year or so but he lived to be 16.

Next dog will be pitbull/boxer mutt. Our neighbors have goldens and they are amazing but also can have major health problems...theirs have only lived to 8 or 9.

Pittbull/ boxer mutt strongly recommended.

Just loves being part of the family
Very athletic and a beautiful dog.
Scary looking and no fear of her biting

Not having Krebs, Thompson and Mittelstadt in the lineup just draws oxygen from my blood.

I have doubts that they'll want to trade Girgensons for anything less than an overpayment. They love his role here and his leadership. I'd be genuinely shocked if he's traded before next year's TDL. Analytically he's a quality defensive forward on an acceptable term/cost. One could argue it's too much, as we have previously debated, but today his and Kyle's cap just don't (frank)ing matter.

Per Lance, Krebs feels great but is still stuck in protocol. No idea if he was ever symptomatic, and I don't recall the rules regarding symp vs asymp and time out of the lineup.

This is the best I've found:

"If a player has no symptoms or his symptoms clear up after five days, he may return to practices and games if he registers either a negative lab-based PCR test or two negative molecular point of care tests collected less than two hours apart. Medical clearance from each club and local health authorities is also required."
