Pretty harsh. Some ppl like being snowbirds & relaxing. Buying property in US destinations can be very good value for those ppl who want that.

Ive watched the guy comment on the greatness of the US and Scottsdale for years, not to mention his wealth/lifestyle. I wouldnt have called it out if he didnt make his fair share of assumptions about my lifestyle and try to talk poop recently.

There wasn't really a lot . Me Nucker and DCT.

Petey back then is miles away from who he is today.

This. In hindsight I’d go Miller but honestly this team still lacks a true captain imo. Bruce mentioned how Getzlaf would tell him to leave the room because he had to talk to the team, I can’t imagine Bo or anyone else doing that, maybe Miller(but I could be wrong, as fans we can only speculate).

But Getzlaf based on ice behaviour seems like a more vocal, take charge type of leader. And JT was the one who spoke out against the league about the poop schedule after covid hit the team last season.

Doesn’t mean I think Bo is a bad captain or can’t be one of the leaders, but I wouldn’t put him up there with guys like Getzlaf yet.

Off the wall…

Halak/Poolman for Zucker retain 1.5m

Reasoning is Pens need a back up & some D depth & offload Zucker who needs a change of address.

Petey for Chychrun/Crouse

Pearson Miller Boeser
Garland Bo Pod
Hog Dlcky Zucker
Motte Lammikko Crouse

Hughes Chychrun
OEL Myers
Bones Schenn

Demko
Spencer

- Nighthawk

I would target

Chairot for 3 LD
Donato for 3C
Zadorov for 3RD

Trade Pearson for space and cut ties with Hamonic.

I like all of that so…

A GM tells the Captain at a private sit down run the team like you own it. Idc if a player has it in them to be like that it’s an order to do it. Captain has to have the room no less than the coach. He is a player who speaks to players on a players level. He owns it.

I think Miller has matured a lot and could be a great captain. As Canuck fans, we are just used to the turn the other cheek/ be polite style of leadership. Lots of captains are surly and moody like Miller. But perhaps you guys are right, we may not have the right leader in the room.

Why I see Petey gets traded…

He’s not playing good
He can get us good pieces
We have enough scoring to build around
We have holes to fix
Organizational depth needed
Add good draft picks

Not forced to the trade unless…

Top 4 RHD comes back
Stud LHD if Hughes can swap sides
Added sweetner(s)
Not selling low there is a deal out there

Bo spoke up as well. Miller after him in fact.... it wasn't the same timing but same issue earlier.

Tough break…

COLORADO HOCKEY NOW: Adrian Dater reports recurring concussion symptoms are behind Bowen Byram’s departure from the Avalanche for personal reasons. His father said his son told him he can’t continue playing feeling the way he does. The 20-year-old defenseman has already suffered three concussions in his young NHL career. There’s no word when he’ll return to the lineup.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Here’s hoping Byram can find the treatment he needs to regain his health and hopefully return to the Avalanche. It would be a shame for his promising career to come to a premature end.

Feel bad for Byram being so young & facing such a serious health problem.
