Besides the play where he looked like he was tying his skates as the puck slid by him

Sure does. I'm just not convinced Miller is NHL caliber now. His errors are egregious and often. Many times it's just the fundamentals of positioning. He needs to hone his fundamentals against AHL caliber talent a little longer imo.

Also... as I said

If you're a part of the play getting assists the mistakes are far more palatable.
- fourtrax23

Miller isn't a part of anything but the minus column. He's not even a physical presence.

- fourtrax23

Oh yeah, he's been absolutely terrible.

Last 5 games:

Opp Date G A P +/- PIM PPG SHG S Shifts TOI
SJS JAN 13 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 26 20:03
LAK JAN 10 0 0 0 -1 0 0 0 1 25 18:10
ANA JAN 8 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 26 20:05
VGK JAN 6 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 26 20:25
EDM JAN 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 26 22:58

The bar is set moronically high around this place.

edit: that didn't display as nicely as it seemed it would. But, you get the point. For all the female doging about his egregious mistakes, he's been on the ice for one goal against in the last 5 games. Yes, he caused that one goal directly (and I called him out for it, like others), but that is far from something he should be demoted over.

that goal by McDavid against the Rangers was a hell of a play for November NHL action

I have a strong suspicion we won't be seeing him make any plays like that in June.

You may see him in a different jersey in June if them signing Kane goes how I think it will. He may just say, (frank) this I'm done here and bounce

I think you see what you want to see in him. He hasn't been an allstar back there but he has been more than serviceable and has played some tough minutes. I just think you were being a bit too hard on a 22 year old for mistakes that you were letting slide for another 22 yr old.

I dont understand why people would actually want Shesterkin to play in the all-star game

lol, you have a point there, to be sure.
I'm really surprised the Buch wasn't selected, and can't wait to see people explode when he gets the nod!
Personally, I'm thrilled for him. Didn't think we would be as exposed as we have been on RW, but the move was going to be made given where we were at the time.

The bar is set high because this is the NHL, not the Jasper Falls travelling league. You can emote all you want, but the kids just not ready. He floats around the ice hoping the puck will hit him. His drive is nearly non-existent, he skates like he has cement boots, he's afraid to take the body. You got to see 2 kids yesterday called up who looked hungry and made an impact. I just don't see that with Miller at all. He turns the puck over and lowers his head - plays over - no fight whatsoever. Maybe if he was demoted he'd have something to play for.

Perhaps. I think much like goalies, D-men need more time to establish their game before coming up. It takes longer with some is all. Miller may end up being lights out in a couple years.

So you would rather Tinordi play over him? Cause if it's not Miller it will 100% be Tinordi in the lineup. Miller and Trouba are developing great chemistry.

Lol. Who is the one emoting? I offered stats that show in no uncertain terms that he has been effective at keeping the puck out of our net and you respond with vague opinions.

Miller is a staple on the PK unit that ranks 4th in the NHL. Another stat

Obv not, but if it gets the message across that work needs to be put in to keep your spot - yes. Maybe I'm watching another game but the Miller I see just seems to become defeated after a misplay. I'd be fine with a give away if he fought to take it back, kept skating, took the body... literally anything.

You had 4 in your stats reply. So, you. There's nothing vague about watching him turn over the puck over and over. Watch a game. Does each one result in a goal against for your stats? No.

I just don't think he has been as bad as you think. Up and down this year, sure. But not all development is Linear. He is coming off a great rookie season and is now seeing his minutes rise and playing against better players. The big picture is he is playing 20 mins a night right now for a playoff contending team. He isn't coming out of the lineup for a few bad plays here and there.
