Per Schneider's successful memorable NHL debut, coupled with the possibility of both Reaves and Gauthier coming off Covid protocol by Saturday, and Reaves likely lineup return in Philly, the Rangers this afternoon assigned from their taxi squad to Hartford Zac Jones, Lauri Pajuniemi, & Justin Richards. Both Schneider & Greco earned their stay in the lineup with their play at San Jose.
Drury has been working the wires to strengthen his roster & being willing to put in play his #1 draft pick asset as a piece. The delay with the outcome of the Sharks buyout of Evander Kane may result in the end in them re-opening contract extension talks with Hertl, especially while still being Western Conference playoff contenders.
That may lead Drury to instead consider sooner the RW hole on the second line by seeking Tyler Toffoli from a current sure be seller in the Canadiens; and also despite their recent faceoff success, a lower cost & ranking experienced center possessing a successful faceoff history, than a higher cost & ranked two way rental in Hertl.
As was the case when Shesty suffered his injury, paving the way for Georgiev to have his true trade value at this Summer's Entry Draft be based on his play when given extended #1 starter action, Braden Schneider's debut last night made GM life easier for Drury. Braden supplied Drury with the flexibility to deal from strength one of his top other additional inherited defensive prospects as a key piece in a significant deal, among either Matthew Robertson, Zac Jones, or even Nils Lundkvist. But Drury must also seek experienced veteran help at LD should of key, Nemeth's cap hit need to be moved to fit in a significant cap cost piece, and especially if finally extending the very deserved Ryan Strome long term effective next season. |

Which of those turnovers ended up in the net during the shutout win?
So, what happens to that play if he doesn't make that 2 foot pass to Strome?
I never said he was deserving of intense praise. But, it's clear your default setting is looking for negativity to female dog about.
I've seen Fox make 4 or 5 noticeably bad plays since Christmas. Should he be benched? - Tonybere
Fox is the 1 or 2 scoring defenseman in the league. Can you make that same claim for Chytil if hes playing RW with Panarin and Strome?
But again, the part of the game I was awake for didnt impress me. |

For what it's worth according to Natural Stat Trick Chytil was credited with 0 turnovers last night. Their definition of a turnover might be different from yours, but maybe you are also just looking for things that he does wrong every time he's on the ice. I think we can agree he hasn't taken that next step this year and it's been frustrating but you obviously just hate Chytil and look for any chance you can to come on here and say "I told you so." It gets old, we get it you don't like him.
We're fans of the team and when he puts together a few good games we can be pleased with it without you shooting everyone down pointing out every minor flaw that you see. Nobody is saying he's gretzky - SkjeiStadium
Because turnovers arent just based on possession, which is what stat lines go for. Turn overs are also a result of lack of effort on a play. If youre not engaged in a pass in your direction leading to a loss of offensive zone possession, thats a turn over in my book. |

You got that my example of Fox was irrational, that's good. So is expecting absolute perfection. These guys aren't a PS4 game. You clamored for them to move Chytil to RW and they did. And he had a decent game. So, you've invent new parameters for the turnover statistic to find something to complain about. I just think the kid could use a little slack. There is much to be positive about. |

Same here.
I actually had to make the effort of copying it into Word this time. Because as you are already aware, I'm in that kind of mood. 304 words. Astonishing. Halfway to a screenplay. |

Ive said it many times, Im not shy about eating crow and if Chytil blows the doors off playing wing there, awesome. However I only got to aee half, the worse half of the game apparently.

Its a long-winded summary of everything every Rangers beat writer is writing. Hes that friend everyone wishes they had when you needed to turn in a 10 page paper and could only come up with 3. |

After tonight the Rangers only will have 17 road games left the entire season.
26 remaining at home.
And they are in first place in the metro. |

I don’t get the decision to send Greco back to the taxi squad. He actually showed something on the ice. Gettinger and Brodzniak are mostly useless. Would have kept him over those two |

Gettinger is baffling. He always looks lost and 2 steps behind the play. |

I have no love for Gettinger, but I thought as a line they had a good game. They spent most of their shifts in the SJ zone. Can't ask for much more than that. But, I don't get it either because I thought Greco was clearly the best of the three. |
