Well currently 56 and 76 are outplaying 82. - Angotti
I agree 82s been pretty bad the past few games |

82 is playing more than he should, he is 3rd pairing d-man at best, maybe a 7th on a lot of teams, or even a AHL player. |

How the hell has Toews not scored tonight? |

So here's the game plan guys when we are on the power play we're going to give up a 2 on 1 and have a mad scramble then counter with a 2 on 1 the other way and score easily, brilliant pp plan by King |

That’s okay, he’s getting chances and playing a good game. That’s a good sign. |

This Reichel kid is fun to watch. Fast, agile, good hands, and knows how to engage a puck carrier on the walls. He also has a nice quick shot.
Hopefully the two other centers that are currently watching take notes. |

Another nice defensive game by the Blackhawks with some key saves by MAF. |

The worst game I've ever seen out of C. Jones, I'm calling him Salerno from now on. Gus is Little Ceasar.
deHaan has looked good, I'm hoping that he can get us a 2nd rounder at the trade deadline.

Do you think someone (Crow) asked Gus to play some defense. He is not a good defender. But at least he is in the general vicinity of where he should be most of the time. In previous tour of duty he would roam all over the ice when “defending”. When he got out of position he would skate in random circles. |

Very even game with great goaltending on both sides.
Corsi 51-48 Ducks
Scoring chances 32-29 Ducks
High danger chances 15-12 Hawks
(All 5v5 numbers)

I think that included our entire defense, such a mess |

If they hadn’t gone 1-9-2 under dumb ass, they’d be in the WC conversation.
Good to hear JC will be f’ing up Canada’s chances at the Olympics. |

Amazing how they protect the middle of the ice and in layers, what a concept |

Did Toews look like he had more energy tonight than he has just about all year? It would be nice if that is a trend he could build on. |

So true. But particularly Gus. It was like he literally lost on the ice just wandering around our end trying to avoid the puck, contact and the opposition. He’s not great now. Maybe he is not even good now. But there has been dramatic improvement. |

Speaking of games in a row, has anyone heard if the NHL is rescheduling games during the olympic break? |

Kid has quite the tool box but I think despite his physical skills his best attribute might be his IQ. Really liked that pass from the Dzone threaded past two Ducks into open ice for Kaner to skate into for an in alone. Reichel is impressive.
As a Dach guy they've won how many in a row since he's been out?

The whole club had clown show sequences every game under JC but especially so Gus. King comes in and for the most part that has disappeared. We are too far into the King "era" for it to be a coincidence for both Gus and the club.
It's been noted that King came in and simplified the systems which I think helped Gus in particular, the eye test shows that, but King's style of understanding flaws yet still having expectations has helped Gus too. Anyone can see Gus's physical skills and I'm guessing King has talked to him about simplifying, playing a role and not trying to carry a shift to do too much.
I think King, and Gus accepting coaching, is the reason for Gus's much improved play. ...... Strome too. Big difference in him under King. 75% better chance Strome moves his feet with King behind the bench and when he does that he can be more than useful.
