I think you have to make a choice as a GM. If Miller will resign, you trade Petey and Boeaer and try to compete next year and beyond. Miller has 5 or so years where he will be able to compete. Hopefully we draft well and keep it going.
Or
You trade Miller and Boeser, consider next year development and look to compete after that with a younger core.
I've seen Avs fans offer Barron, 1st, 2nd for Miller, with Van fans countering with Newhook, Barron, 1st.
But if we can get Newhook and Barron for Miller, that would set us up nicely for many years. |

I find it hard to trade Miller & his ability to drive play. He & Hughes make the PP go when it’s clicking. So I see Boeser on the move. Idk if he’ll age well & his QO is a hinderance. He’d have to sign for say 5/6.25 max to keep him. |

I think Boeser is gone. I can also see one of Petey and Miller gone. I'm personally not sold that Petey will continue to play this poorly, so I still lean towards Miller for a massive haul. He could set us up for years. |

Not down on Petey as much as I cannot see the F’s led by him. It will take a lot more from him & consistency to convince me. |

Yup, I think Boeser is gone and I think Miller will be the other high value forward moved before the trade deadline. Pouty is most likely having a Nylander type of holdout season. Even though I don't like him, he does have talent when engaged. |

Someone give me the best deal Boeser signs for & I’ll do an ACGM. See how it plays out. |

Miller most valuable asset to trade, could see Boes get moved depending on the return |

Don’t think there is any argument about Miller getting a good return.
There is one for being worse off without knowing the return. |

Also the timing for any return for Miller & to whom for what?
Traded to a top team any 1st will be a late pick or a mid pick at best. So getting a legit NHL player back even less likely from a PO team. So leaves it to a big package with younger key pieces. |

Miller traded at the deadline will return a lot less than Miller in the summer. It's going to be a cap strapped situation for any team looking to go for a cup at the deadline. |

I mean, yes? That's sort of obvious though. The team is worse trading anyone without knowing the return (except Myers, of course) |

Depends on what we are willing to retain, or take back in salary. |

Not the point. Petey isn’t a leader.
Everybody says Miller will be the best to trade for the best return without presenting any names. Far too vague aka no meat to it. |

I think the opposite. Trading for 2 playoffs of Miller is going to net a better return than 1 season of him. Miller's 5 mil contract will be easy enough to fit this season with it being pro-rated, and then the team can figure it out in the offseason. Canucks can also take back a contract to make it work. Plus the team could just LTIR some dude into the playoffs and voila |

Exactly what I'd expect from a paper champ who got scared and went into hiding on draft day.
