Every young player is going to be ready. This is great. They don't need to do much after all. - MJL
I don't know if they all will be ready, but some certainly will, the point is they have players that are coming up, and maybe, just maybe, one of them will be better than a 4th line checker! |

How many here think that Ryan Eliis will pull a Niskannen and retire (maybe medically) and never come back. That would be the irony of all ironies...
Speaking of right handed D-men
Talking heads on the NHL network say the Jonathan Klingberg may be on the move... though his +/- is a head scratcher in the minus territory |

At this point, Flyers could only be so lucky.

what makes you think they will play any of them? Phuck York is only playing as a last resort. Let that sink in.

yes they didn't want to rush York, I think that was the smart move. But clearly he is showing he belongs now which is a great thing! I could only wish Frost was making such an impact. |

again, Hayes signing hinders no doubt. But what other move is hindering them?? Most of last year's signings are expiring this season so they are irrelevant. Risto will be traded, so will G, so will JVR and the Flyers will be in decent shape. They will have picks and cap space and a core group of players to build around. It's not all bad here! - jd250
You think they will be traded but we'll see. They then need to use those picks and develop those players. Then, what will they do with the cap space? Do you think they sit on it or do they go out and try to make another splash. Think about the decision making of upper management and this GM and the choices they've made in the last 2-3 years? It has been overwhelmingly negative. Yet we're supposed trust them some more?

Well, not all Orthopedic surgeons are good, neither are all PT's...in and around Philly..and I do know from experience...
We can benignly hope for the worst and he gets a settlement from his insurance co.
I think he does not want to be here after spending his whole career in Nashville or their farm team and has earned enough.....

Niskanen left one year and about 5M on the table. Ellis has 29M still left in salary on his deal.

Stop they didn't want to rush him as that doesn't hold any water in his case. Look at his timeline. They were forced.
So if they didn't want to rush him is it possible they were wrong in not calling him up as he has played well? Since he was only called up by default. |

Here is another statement that you didn't think through. Consistent drafting cannot make up for a miss on a 2nd overall pick where you were hoping to get a #1 NHL center. Hextall drafted some good players but no star level players. I seriously doubt that this team adopts a patient approach. - MJL
we got lucky to win the lottery and get that pick, or hextall wouldve drafted 13th ish. You severly over rate his drafting. 8 1st round picks and not much to show for them. Best thing the flyers couldve done was to fire him sooner.

I agree that there are too many games where he is not engaged but he played his ass off last night. Unfortunately, we don't see that enough from him. A player with his talent going 20 games without scoring a goal is not about being snake bit. I think we have be very careful when looking at all players individually here. It's just too dysfunctional of a situation overall. - MJL
You’re not wrong. It’s difficult to evaluate where any of these players truly are. I do believe most of the guys struggling on this squad can be good players, but it just will not be in a Flyers sweater. I highlight TK because he was a guy I was very excited to have on this team, and really rooted for him to have a breakout. But yeah, perhaps it is the fact he’s been “born and raised” professionally in this dysfunction and losing that it’s finally just caught up with him. Sad either way, dude plays exactly how I’d play as a shorter, chippy bigmouth 😎 |

look if Fletcher tries to double down I'll be right with you! I just don't think he will. I expect the Flyers will use some of the cap space to sign a few veterans for depth like they did this year, but I think they are going rebuild, no big signings! |

They already are in Cam York. You could see Foerster and Tuomaala next season, as well as O'Brien whom Hextall drafted. As I mentioned earlier, JOB is really starting to put things together at BU and we should be excited about that. - jd250
All seriousness are you related to JOB....no one considers him a serious prospect |

what in Fletcher's past leads you to believe he will do a good job in a rebuild?

they had no choice, the Flyers had to ice a hockey team with all the injuries and Covid, what else were they supposed to do? |

if he wasn't a 1st rd pick not sure how much press he would warrant.

I saw MacEwen make a huge impact to the game last night, and he plays on the same line as Frost, right? I don't understand why you think Frost can't make an impact to the game unless he is playing on the top line??? |

your felating of management is just very odd. This organizations management and development process all leave a lot to be desired. Any rational person can admit this.
Could have called up Hogberg. Point is York should have been up earlier. My bad that etar week in the AHL got him prepared. |

So you think that Scott and company after firing Hextall and wanting a GM in with an "action bias" and wanting to be relevant again are now going to completely change course and now try to rebuild? If they do, Scott and company will look like bigger jackasses than they already do now. I'll believe it when I see it.

Doesn’t have to be (and it really can’t be) blown up. Look back a few years ago. The Islanders lost JT in free agency, hired Lou L to run things, and then grabbed Barry T to coach. With the same guys like Lee, Eberle, Etc, a winning mentality took over. Lou set the tone and demands excellence from the top down, Barry is a fantastic coach and devised/tweaked a system around the talent he had, and two consecutive EC Finals only to lose to the Stanley Cup Champs. There is hope but Fletcher and Yeo are not Lamoriello and Trotz. Good change needs to start at the top for anything on the ice to be worthwhile. |

Really? No one? I think you are wrong! I know for a fact the Flyers consider him a serious prospect. I know BU considers him a serious prospect. I know the scouts that I always see at the BU games consider him a serious prospect. Perhaps it would help if you actually watched him play before you comment. |
