LOL. If we could only find 11 more just like him, we would be set.

Not an issue. why cant you accept this? what will his cap hit be come around the deadline? surely there is a cap person on the boards that can answer this question.

Who are the good number of vets available that are of CC's caliber?

cap space wont be an issue. Even if we take back an expiring contract to make him fit they will do that.

Silly to even bring up really imo. Many ways to make it work. Good organizations will find a way to make it work.

I think a lot of people are reversing on what they thought before the season started.

Exactly…and I don’t think anyone here thought they would be great. Just thought they’d be better. Adding a true #1 dman, a physical dman, a shoot first type forward, combined with young guys like Allison, Frost, Lindblom being healthy and taking a step forward it wasn’t a stretch to think they could be a decent team.

I think everyone, myself included thought they would be improved. However I said before the season started that it was not the right approach for the team to take and I seriously questioned both the Ellis and Ristolainen moves. Not as much for the Atkinson deal. No issue there. However some made claim that all the right moves were made. The culture was changed and this team was going to be one of the top teams in the league. That was then and remains now misguided.

Its funny there was an article in the athletic last week and Ronnie was talking about the culture on the pens. Even Ronnie knows that culture plays a part in making up a team, but MJL totally dismisses it. I bet he changes his mind now that his dad talks about the culture as something real.

Repeatedly and Repeatedly all freaking day. Jesus, enough. Used to like MJL posts. This year his incessant yammering is beyond tiring. This site has decended into MJL, Tomahawk, PT21, Half a dozen people with 3 or more life time bans and endless whining. I used to read all the comments. Just beyond unbearable.

if the culture is changed and it doesn't translate to winning than isn't it just shuffling deck chairs?

They exchanged one losing culture for another losing culture that is older and more expensive. Many don't understand how you form a winning culture. You form it by building a quality team and by winning. Many thought that if they just got rid of the problem players, it would magically change the culture of the team.
