MMA fighters who are put in neck choke holds, get punched in the head and body repeatedly and get body slammed have had that surgery.
football and rugby players have had that surgery
Eichel will be good. - ImThatGuy
He probably will, but you don't know that. Jesus a Russian Figure Skater had it done and did a jump and spin and when he landed his ADR popped out, he doesn't skate anymore. |

Did she have fusion? - ImThatGuy
Started with a microdiscectomy and went for a disc replacement but the discs were too big for her spinal cord so she had to get a fusion

If said medical issues prevent them from doing their job, yes I am allowed to discuss it.
If I discussed that person's medical history to discriminate against them, then it is a different discussion - Stripes77
NO. YOU. ARE. NOT.
You are NOT allowed to suggest a person's unknown medical condition is preventing them from doing their job. That LITERALLY IS DISCRIMINATION. |

Tell that to Eichel, who himself said it was no big deal and was out to dinner the same day. - sbroads24
Because his went well, it means it wasn't a big deal?
Got it

Not going to read it, but there is a section in the CBA covering medical information. |

Define cheap. How much salary? Remember the Sabres are paying zero dollars of Jack's $10 per. TJ is a center and has been good in this league, but he's a total crap shoot right now and he's 31. Probably not for anything I consider an asset. |

Tyler Johnson had the same exact surgery a week or two later and is expected to be back in three months. |

When fusion goes wrong, it goes drastically wrong, unfortunately.
not saying anything for your wife or anything, just ive heard horror stories about fusion and how antiquated it is. |

I think Dahlin's passing is top 5 in the league.
I am not talking about his bonehead plays but his actual tape to tape passing. |

TB had to give a second and take on a dead contract to move him. So what are we talking here? |

Eichel must have had more complex surgery, because he won't be back until the first game of the playoffs.
I think the doctors said his condition was complicated by a severe case of Kucherovitis. |

Where the hell did I say unknown?

Dude. You are not allowed to discuss a co-worker's medical conditions. It's plain and simple. It's unknown because you aren't supposed to know about it.
If you are in management, you are NOT allowed to disclose a employee's medical condition to ANYONE, and you certainly are not allowed to suggest a person's medical condition prevents them from doing their job.
If an injury happens at work, that is about the only situation where you can suggest the injury prevents them from doing their job. But that's an INJURY. Not a MEDICAL CONDITION.
No one is reaching here dude. Federal Law protects an employee's medical conditions from being disclosed, and if you go talking about it, you will get sued.
And professional athlete's are complete morons for not negotiating that into the CBA of their leagues. They literally waive Federal protections.
There is no way to argue against this. |

Probably not, but a guy who knows how to win, might not be a bad thing. Salary won't hurt us, and he can play anywhere if I'm not mistaken. Better than playing an AHLer. |

Fusions completely prevent motion, I completely understand why Eichel wanted the replacement.
There is a lot that can wrong with either option
